Lesley1981's Exante Diary

Hi all, thought this was a great little way to keep track of how I'm doing. I started Exante on Monday 6th May, and quit smoking the day before, so rest-assured it's not going to be easy.

Day 1 - Monday 6th May

Breakfast - Vanilla shake. Definitely need to buy a proper blender bottle, could barely drink it for the lumps
Lunch - Toffee, Nut and Raisin bar. Shame it doesn't taste as good as it looks, but having previously done a different VLCD, I'm glad to have something to chew on other than my nails.
Dinner - Mushroom Soup. Already not off to a good start given my hatred of mushrooms, so loaded with garlic pepper to make it slightly more appealing, nope... didn't work.

Water - Managed around 3 litres, pee'd a lot, but hey, running to the toilet is extra exercise... right?

Other - Quitting smoking is playing havoc with me, so to take my mind off it I cleaned out my car and drank about 8 cups of tea.

Starting weight - 12st1lb

Day 2 - Tuesday 7th May

Back to work after the bank holiday, and on my own in the office... Might be destined for failure today, but not in the diet department.

Breakfast - Banana shake. Banana is usually my least favourite type of milkshake, but made using my new bottle and it tasted really good.
Lunch - Chocolate Orange bar. Slightly better than yesterdays bar
Dinner - Thai soup. Surprisingly tasty, nice and thick.

Water - Around 2 and a half litres consumed today.

Other - Made it through the day without having a cigarette, and only used the electronic cig a few times. I will get there.

Todays weight - 12st0lb - One lb off!!!

Well done on getting started so well and for stopping smoking :) At least you know you're not going to put on weight after stopping smoking which happens to a lot of people :)

Well done. I gave up smoking some time ago but only with the help of prescribed medication! To give up smoking and embark on a VLCD takes a lot of determination. Keep it up!

Day 3 - Wednesday 8th May

Breakfast - Strawberry Shake. Surprisingly my least favourite so far, and I usually LOVE strawberry
Lunch - Toffee, nut and raisin bar. Discovered that this bar is soooo much nicer when you take every mouthful with a cup of coffee. Actually enjoyed it today
Dinner - Tomato and basil soup. Doesn't taste like any other tomato and basil soup I've had, but it's not too bad. Added a sprinkling of pepper, and enjoyed that too!

Water - Just over two litres, but also copius amounts of tea and coffee.

Other - Still haven't had a smoke, but today was tough, the e-cig ran out of charge and work was absolutely mental, but I made it. Started to get a bit of a headache later on in the evening, but that passed. One thing I REALLY notice is that I haven't slept in four nights, well not properly anyway. THink my body may be in a complete state of shock, going to have to get something to help with that later.

Today's weight - 11st13lb That's 2 lbs off!!

Well done on sticking to it, and not giving to smoking when the e-cig wasn't working either.

When I first tried the strawberry and banana shakes I didnt like them at all, but now I do, they're not my favourites but I do like them and it's nice to have a range of things.

Well done...and looking good being 2lb down already

Day 4 - Thursday 9th May

Breakfast - Chocolate shake - Really enjoyed my shake this morning, definitely going to try it hot next time
Lunch - Chocolate Orange bar
Dinner - Vegetable soup - This soup is just alright, struggled to finish it

Water - 2 litres. Was a very busy evening, and I was out in the car, so didn't want to drink too much

Other - The no smoking is going great. When I got home though, my mum had a boiled gammon on and the smell was driving me mad, so I pinched a sneaky little corner of it. Still no sleep, so ventured to Boots for something to help with that, passed the icecream stall on my way, but avoided temptation. Also decided to treat myself to some new nails, seeing as I've chewed mine to bits since Sunday :(

Todays weight - 11st11lb - 4lbs in total now!! WOW!

Day 5 - Friday 10th May

Breakfast - vanilla shake! Well today I decided I was going to try a recommendation, so I added a little coffee and had it hot! Oh my gad!!!!! Best idea EVER! It felt kinda naughty!

Lunch - toffee nut bar

Dinner - mushroom soup. The only way I can stomach the mushroom soup is to LOAD it was garlic pepper and try to pick as many mushroom pieces out of it. Doing this makes it a little more bearable!

Water - 2 litres, and some green tea

Other - well I took a couple of little pieces of chicken and a piece of gammon tonight, the smell was driving me insane! Think I may also be starting to notice a slight difference in my clothes!

Today's weight - 11st10lb!

Going good Lesley, it is very motivating how fast the weight comes off in the first week.

Well done on giving up smoking!:happy096:

Well done so far

You're doing great!!!

Day 6 - Saturday 11th May

Breakfast - banana shake
Lunch - chocolate orange
Dinner - scrambled eggs and ham, reason to follow...

Water - 2 litres plus multiple cups of herbal tea.

Other - well while others have been struggling to go to the toilet, I've had absolutely no problem today. Seems I've picked up a little bug, and while I didn't want to ruin my diet, I did need some proper solid food, hence the scrambled eggs!
Still haven't smoked, so I'm feeling very proud of myself.

Today's weight - 11st8lbs - that's 7lbs in total

Wooohooo well done Lesley! Your doing really well =)

Eggs are fine - no carbs. You're doing amazing to give up smoking at the same time. I've given up smoking a few times and know what its like but this time I haven't smoked for over a year. You can do it!

Bring it on!

Day 7 - Sunday 12th May

Breakfast - Chocolate shake. Made this hot today and I have to say it was YUMMY! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and it kinda felt a bit naughty!
Lunch - Toffee, nut and raisin bar - my tastes are definitely changing, as I found this a lot nicer today
Dinner - Because I am still feeling unwell, i decided to have a proper dinner, I wasn't bad at all, just had some chicken and a few green beans.

Water - Can't seem to get over the two litre mark, but making it up with some herbal tea again.

Other - still seem to have this bug, but still trying to keep as close to plan as possible. Still haven't smoked, and have saved a grand total of £35 so far!

Today's weight - 11st8lbs - no loss today, but 7lbs in one week is unbelievable

I've got a little app on my phone an it says I stopped smoking 2 months and 9 days ago and have saved £505 so far!!

Well done
