Well here it goes. I have never been able to keep a diary before but will try & update this at least twice a week,

I have been trying to control my weight for just under half of my life, & that's quite a few years. Since then I have been on all sorts of diets the most successful of these was about seven years ago on LL when I lost just over 4 stone. Then Christmas came along together with the mince pies ( which I love } & it all went down hill from there really. I am now at the heaviest I have ever beem. I no longer look at myself in the mirror. I am fed of wearing clothes that I don't like but wear then because they are comfortable & hide the bumps. Last year on holiday I was so self conscious that I avoided the pool & finally I am determined that I do not order a bigger sized uniform for work!!
So here it is, the year of my success. I have a box of chocs on the worktop left over from Christmas & they will stay there unopened as a sign of my determination. Each day they stay unopened will signify a day closer to reaching my goal. Fingers crossed.
On day 3 today & have only had one shake so far, a chocolate one mixed with hot water & coffee. Not sure if I liked it or not
Looking forward to porridge for dinner. Good luck to all of you on your journeys.

Good luck, Hope all goes well, and the chocolates stay sealed.

Thanks Chris. Putting a postie sticker on them for each day I resist.

Hi Susie. Well done for starting your own diary. It will definitely help!

Thanks Lynn. I will have to make sure I update it. Keeping a diary is not my strongest point lol x

Not mine either Susie, but I do generally keep up on here.

Had the last shake of the day. One more glass of water & that will be it till tomorrow. Its usually this time of night when I start to think of wavering. Silly thoughts start popping into my head like it wont make much difference if I have a little cheat. Never stops at one little treat though. Tend to stay up late watching a DVD as I cant sleep if I go too bed early. Will have to conquer this way of thinking somehow or else have an alarm bell put on the fridge!!

Good night Susie. You're doing great and I know you won't waver!

Thanks Trying hard, Thanks Lynn. My daughter has just walked through the door, She went to Iceland for a few days & has brought back some Icelandic grass. I've got that simmering on the hob. Hope it tastes good.

Oooh nice! My sister is coming back from Iceland tomorrow :) hope it tastes good!

Well not too sure about how that tasted . Its a bit bitter but does taste sort of healthy. A bit like grass really lol

What is it?

Its called Iceland mountain spirit . Its a type of tea. Think I will try a sweetener in it. Will make it less bitter.

Is it good for you?

Yes all natural stuff. My daughter looks the healthiest she has been in a long while & she was only over there for a few days.

Everyone should be made to go to Iceland. It's beautiful and so unpolluted. Like an unintentional detox! So refreshing :) sister got married there...

Yes, we will definitely go. Sounds so nice over there. She didn't get to see the Northern lights which was the main reason my daughter went over there. She said it didn't matter in the end cos there was so much other stuff to experience. Bet your sisters wedding was lovely Trying hard.

Sisters wedding was superb! She had a traditional British wedding over there. We looked like Sheila's Wheels (bridesmaids) because the Icelanders don't make a big thing of weddings. There were loads of locals who turned up to see what the commotion was (cars, piper, brightly dressed people n men in kilts!)

Have a great day :)

Good morning Susie and good luck. xx

I think maintaining a diary on here helps to keep us in check.
Also reading other peoples journeys, especially when they make it to the finishing line. Makes it feel all the more possible and less daunting knowing you're not on your own.
Well to me it does :D
