Day 1 of Exante today. Haven't found it too hard although stomach is a little upset this evening. Sure it will settle down soon enough.

I'm 5'6" and used to weigh 15st4. I did Weight Watchers for a year and got down to 11st. Xmas 2013 I was back up to 14st and as of weighing in yesterday evening, I'm now 14st7. I'm getting married in July so it would be really nice to get down to at least 12st before then.
My wife to be has been a larger lady all her life. Last summer she was around 22st and started Cambridge. She did really well and managed to lose about 3st taking her down to about 19st. She found the Cambridge products to be hard to stick to and has switched to Exante which is why I've started it with her now.

Fingers crossed Exante can get us looking trim for our big day!

Good look Brendan,

So... Day 2 was infinitely harder than day 1. I'm sorry to say I nearly quit last night and it was only a few encouraging words from my lady friend that kept me going.
I'm a fairly fussy eater so finding products that I'm happy to eat is somewhat of a challenge. The shepherd's pie and chilli are winners at the moment although I still have to add a boat load of seasoning so that they taste better. Piri piri seasoning is a great addition to the chilli!

Crossed off the list so far are:
The curry - I love Indian curry but the exante version is more like a Thai curry, full of coconut which I hate
All of the bars - I thought I could stomach the chocolate one but it's far too rich for me (I don't eat chocolate cake for the same reason)
Porridge - Can't stand normal porridge so that's a complete non-starter
Bolognese/Carbonara/Risotto - Don't eat normal spaghetti/pasta so again, no joy

I've still to try the shakes but I don't like milkshakes at all (except McDonalds which is basically just ice cream) and have done shakes before on different diets. I can throw them back to get rid quickly which is a bonus but it's still not pleasant. Anyway, I imagine I'm basically going to be living off of shepherd's pie and chilli with a soup or shake in between.

I think yesterday it really dawned on me how much I enjoy eating. Not necessarily eating badly (although I've done my fair share of that) but having to eat exante products when I could be cooking a little spiced chicken and potatoes is just soul destroying. I'm sticking with exante anyway but when I'm down to a decent weight, I don't think I'll take "real" food for granted anymore and will combine a healthier diet with exercise just so I never have to do exante again!

I'm happy to report that Day 3 went much better. Day 4 is also okay so far. I'm definitely feeling a lot of hunger in the evenings but other than that, nothing too bad going on. Looking forward to week 1 being over so I can weigh in!

Keep going Brendan. You're doing really well. The worse should be over soon.

Glad you didn't give in, keep going - the vanilla and the chocolate shakes are both nice hot, I only ever drink them like that and I add a spoonful of coffee to the vanilla. I also find the chocolate bar too sweet yet strangely I find it's okay if it's been in the freezer.

Thanks for the support everyone! I love the idea about freezing that chocolate bar, I can imagine it feeling like eating ice cream! Might give that a go today...
I'm falling into a doable pattern of shepherd's pie about 12pm, something a little unenjoyable about 3pm such as a shake or soup and then a chilli about 7pm so I'm getting through :)
My girlfriend had her first week weigh in this morning and has lost 8lbs! I know first weeks are the best but that's pretty good going. Fingers crossed for my first weigh in on Tuesday evening!

Well done! Ur probably through the rough patch by now...

Have u tried halving sachets? I halve soups so I eat more often. Half a soup is substantial for me. Just a thought :)

Hope ur winning!

Ht 5ft 1 Start wt 14st BMI 37. Wk1 -18lbs, BMI 33.6 Wk2 -2 BMI 33.2, Wk3...

Well I tried a frozen chocolate bar today and wasn't too impressed. Fortunately I've found that the chicken soup is okay and that I can down a strawberry shake fast enough that it doesn't matter that I don't like it!
Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow evening to see how my first week has gone. Anyway I've just ordered a month's supply today so I'm committed now...

Glad to see that you are coping with the choice of packs Brendan. I had to sell the Strawberry because I just couldn't tolerate them. I love the Shepperds pie & porridge though. Hope you get a good weigh in tomorrow.

I had to sell the Strawberry because I just couldn't tolerate them

I certainly don't enjoy them :)
They're just easy to throw down in a couple of gulps. It's like taking medicine - get it down quick and go brush your teeth to get rid of the taste!

First weigh in later this evening. Quite excited to see the results!
Breath has started to smell a bit which is apparently a side effect of this diet. Not sure what's causing it but investing in some mouth wash is an absolute must...

Have you had your weigh in yet? Your girlfriends loss was fabulous :)

How's it going Brendan?

Sorry! Haven't had a chance to post until now!
I weighed in last night and have lost 6lbs in my first week!
Very happy with the result and it's given me the motivation to get through at least another week :)
