Total Solution Will I be able to do this?!

bunchomonkeys

This time its personal!!
Well I am on day one...... I have only just got hungry and had my first pack - of which I chose the Sheperds Pie as on here most seem to concur that its the 'best' one. PLEASE someone tell me they are all wrong as I personally found it rather vile! I tried adding garlic to see if that helped, can't say it did?

Is there some fantastic way of making them more palatible? Was also a little concerned I had made it wrong as there were kinda hard lumps in it of ...........?

Anyway, I intend to lose weight one way or another, I will try and stick with this as long as I can (as apart from anything else I hate waste) but watch this space!!

The first few days are hard, no doubt of it - but get past that and it becomes SO much easier :D

Please don't stop and start- you'll just be prolonging the agony :)

You shouldn't have hard lumps in the shepherds pie - add the required amount of water ( I usually add just a bit more ) then make sure all the powder is mixed and incorporated well before microwaving and stirring well before eating.

I like all the products - though will admit some of the soups are an acquired taste :)

For this to succeed, you have to be committed - tough, but true - and you HAVE to want to do this for yourself

I have been 100% TS since January 1st and have lost 24lbs - so it does work!

Use the fabulous support here - I couldn't do it without that

Take care, stay strong :D

I love the shepherds pie, especially with added cayenne pepper. Persevere & your tastes may change a bit.

First time I made it I did not like it, I use a splash of Worcester sauce and use more water and add pepper. Although not my favourite it seems more palatable.

Hi. Welcome and good luck with your journey.

Hi and congratulations on starting! I've been on exante since thursday last week and whilst the first few days were hard there is now light at the end of the tunnel.
I didn't like the taste of the Shepards pie. Didn't help that the family said it looked like baby food. I added too much pepper to mine to try and disguise the taste which didn't help. I may try the worcestershire sauce tomorrow. I think I may be addicted to the Choc orange bars!

Hi! I've had lumps in my shepherd's pie before, but it was because the water wasn't quite boiling and I didn't stir it enough. Stick with it though, it's actually not bad. I had the carbonara for dinner today, and that was yummy. But then I like everything except the soups.

Not sure I can give you any tips as I'm fairly new to the diet myself, and I'm still getting to grips with it. I think if you go into it knowing it will get boring at times, and that you will be missing out on meals out etc, but you know WHY you're doing it, it will help.

Good luck!

Oh I really hope so!! It was like babyfood what I had yesterday, although I enjoyed the strawberry shake I had later on.....

Can you use Oxoo cubes to flavour things or is that a nono?

Your losses inspire me - I am SO gonna lose weight this time!

Sarah

Oooooooh Worcestershire sauce..... now there is a thought!!! I love that - really need something to flavour it!

Thank you so much for that :)

Hi Becca

I think I may have added a little too much garlic in an attempt to do the same, but Joy below has suggested worcestershire sauce which I like,so thats an idea!

To be honest, hunger isn't an issue at the moment, I only had two packs yesterday and am fine, but that may not last! lol The only thing I have not got is bars - shakes, porridge, soups and meal packs, will see how I get on with those for now as I have a months worth!

Cheers
Sarah

Hi Tinky!

Thats pretty much where I am at, I know I am not gonna have a ball doing it, but I need to look at the bigger picture rather than the steak in the fridge or the lads at work eating chippy for lunch lol That kind of food will come back into my life more quickly if I can stick with this NOW! May have to look at my - mixing again if its not normally lumpy although I doubt I could add anymore water as was sloppy already :sigh:

Have you had a headache going into ketosis? I tried Atkins a few years back and had a mild one then, it was the bad breath that was the worst for me!!

Ho hum, I will be thin but smelly lol

Sarah

Ok so have had a porridge and its given me hope that the meal plan will be do-able after all!!

But sweet and more like ready-brek than porridge, but i enjoyed it!! :)

Glad you've started a diary - now subscribed! Some people find the first few days quite bad and can get headaches, if you do then pop a paracetamol and carry on as it soon passes. I'm on day 45 TS now and am two stone down so it's well worth sticking too.

Re the meals, make sure water is boiling and they are well mixed, I add pepper to everything but the chilli which I add Tabasco sauce to.

Good luck and keep posting :)

I actually am ok at the moment not finding it too hard and not at all hungry which i didn't expect!! I think about food all too much, but not through hunger - just greed :-\

I had already lost 4lb when i couldn't resist the scales yesterday afternoon, so happy girl already with even just that loss!!

Ty for the subscribe and the pepper tip, can't say i fancy the Tabasco though - I don't do spicy.... Think i will try carbonara pack today.... Really can't face the pie again!!
