Hazel's Diary - Enough's enough!

Hi I'm Hazel, 37 years old, 5 ft 7 and 17 stone 3! Never in a million years thought I'd reach this weight but with a bad bout of depression, and some binge eating thrown in for good measure, here I am!

Some of you may remember me...I did exante back in 2011/12. I lost 2 stone in 8 weeks but unfortunately the binge eating took hold again and I'm now at my heaviest :-(

I still suffer from depression and anxiety (have done all my life) but I think I can safely say the binge eating is under control :)

I started Total Solution on Tuesday so today is day 3...so far so good. 3 litres of water and 3 shakes per day plus the occasional cup of black tea. I've got a splitting headache and a rank taste in my mouth so ketosis could be just around the corner.

I look forward to catching up with other peoples diaries and hopefully offering some support along the way.

Hazel x

Welcome Hazel and good luck. Take it day by day and get support here when you need it. You can do this! That ketosis blanket will soon be round you.

Hi Hazel. I am 5 ft 7 and 16 and a half stone so we are pretty close. I started on Tuesday. We can do this!! No headache or funny taste yet but hopefully ketosis kicks in soon!

Hi thanks for the welcome everyone :)

How are you getting on Sandrat?

I've had a difficult day today as my sister in law popped in and all she did was talk about food and eat in front of me lol. Don't think she meant to make things difficult but she's just started a healthy eating plan and so wanted to tell me all about it. She doesn't really approve of vlcds so I think she was trying to convert me.

So far I've had 2 shakes and 2 litres of water, really feel like stuffing my face though so I've come on here to avoid the kitchen.

Getting on so much better than I thought. How are you now?

Managed to stick to the plan and avoid eating....boy was it hard though! Took all my willpower and a lot of pacing about. My husband was late home from work so picked up fish and chips for the kids...he didn't have any himself though as he thought that wouldn't be fair on me bless him!

I'm now laying in bed absolutely starving hungry but at least I didn't cave in :)

Xx

DAY 4

Still going ok and with no cheating. Had a hot banana shake for breakfast and 1 litre of water so far. I haven't got any cravings as such but my mind is working overtime trying to talk me out of doing a vlcd...anyone else doing that?

Hazel x

Day 4 here too. Had half a vanilla shake in coffees so far. Thai soup for lunch and maybe spag Bol for dinner. Litre of water almost gone now too. That reminds me, need the loo AGAIN!

keep it up i've just weighed in today after first week and lost 11lb now thats motivation. Keep going your both doing great and will be feeling so much better when you jump on those scales :bliss:

Thanks scoobydo wow 11lbs is brilliant what a good start. The last time I did exante I only lost 5lbs the first week but then 3 or 4lbs each week for the next few weeks.

Yes Sandra I've spent a lot of time going to the loo too!

Had my asda delivery this afternoon and I have to say it was torture. I should have had my second shake before putting it all away because I have to admit I succumbed to a cheese portion :-( I'm trying to think it doesn't matter and just carry on but I'm a bit of a stickler for rules so it feels like I've ruined it...silly how the mind works.

My mind is also still trying to talk me out of it...'it's expensive', 'you might start binge eating again' 'it's too hard', 'you've got a BBQ on Sunday you have to eat'. It's driving me mad lol. If only it was that easy...decide to do exante, stick to 3 packs a day until you've lost the desired amount of weight, job's a good'n lol.

2 shakes, 2 litres of water and a green tea so far (plus the cheese)

Hazel you're doing fantastic! The cheese triangle thing is so insignificant in your journey and look how strong you really are as didn't eat the whole packet or open the crackers to go with it. Sending you a big pat on the back. When i'm struggling emotionally I jump in the bath to pass the time as I can find myself wondering around aimlessly. You can do it Hazel x

Oh thanks scoobydo your reply really gave me a boost, although I have to be honest I did have another 2 cheeses and half a pack of ham!

I got on the scales this morning and I've lost 5lbs in 4 days so that has helped with making my mind up to stick with it.

I've got a family BBQ to go to tomorrow and I think I'm going to have just meat and salad to stay in ketosis. I'm not really feeling strong enough to go completely without food there and have to explain why to everyone at the moment.

Tomorrow is another day. Don't beat yourself up just make a choice for the day and stick to it. Sending positive thoughts x

Day 6 almost completed.

Weighed myself this morning and I've lost 8lbs so far yippee!

Had a BBQ to go to today but just had meat and salad so really pleased with myself :) avoided the birthday cake and all the nibbles. Did have a couple of Pepsi max which I know has citric acid in it but hopefully it won't affect me too much.

Ordered some more packs and bars which are coming tomorrow. Overall feeling really positive.

you are doing great Hazel, following your diary now. I am on day 8 now and lost 7.5lbs. fingers crossed for both of us that we can keep going.

Thanks Emilie you've done well too. Hopefully it will start getting easier now.

Day 7 and I've had 1 hot choc shake and 1.5 litres of water so far. I weighed this morning and had gone up 2.5lbs from yesterday morning! I didn't eat that much at the BBQ so I'm a bit gutted... Hopefully it will go back down tomorrow then I'll make sure I don't weigh until I've completed week 2.

Day 8 and official loss for week 1 is 6lbs, slightly disappointed because when I weighed Sunday morning it was an 8lb loss but then I ate Sunday and cheated yesterday so only have myself to blame. My son had his GCSE catering exam yesterday and wanted me to try his lasagne. I intended to just have a small mouthful, but once I started I couldn't stop! It was lush and he got an A so I'm very proud :)

A new day today and I'm feeling really focussed. Normally when I've cheated I think I've blown it and stop altogether, but I don't feel like that at all. It's given me a whole new perspective and I can really see me doing this for the long haul.

6lbs is huge. Imagine you'd gained 6lbs in a week, you'd find it hard to argue that it was a small gain

Thanks Sandra hadn't thought of it like that!

End of day 8 and I've had 2 shakes, 1 bar, at least 3 litres of water and 2 green teas...feeling good.
