Jane's Journey

Well I'm here and ready Day 1 and promised myself to keep a diary to help along the way.

Can't believe my weight has crept up on me, when I got on the scales this moring I was blown away by the number. And also angry with myself for allowing it to happen over the last couple of years.

I have had a weight problem from my early twentys put on a few stone lost a few stone put on more you all know the story.... but I'm determined to stop the cycle and Exante seems the the kick up the rear end I need. I'm planning to do this for at least 6 weeks and then see where I'm at but having 4 stone to lose probably only half way.

Turning 40 in October and getting married next spring gives me the motivation to stick with it no matter what. I have 4 children ranging from 7 to 15 and all they have known is a wobbly mum.

So here goes have had my first shake this morning and with my large water bottle in hand I'm going to do this!

Any tips or motivational speeches welcome you have all done so well!

Good luck. You sound very determined and you've got a couple of great motivating goals to keep you focused. I look forward to following your progress.

Thanks I feel like I'm in the zone but it is only day 1! Hope I'm still determined come week 5. Would love to lose as much as you in such a short time. Does it get easier?

It does get easier but there are those days that seem to appear out of nowhere when it's a struggle. Just had a couple of those myself but feeling better today. The other thing is that the weeks do start rolling by faster too so try not to think too far ahead. As the diet becomes more habitual weigh-in days seem to come round much more quickly. Week 1 is definitely the slowest so just stick with it. Your first weigh-in should give you the motivation to get through week 2 and then it gets easier from there.

Thanks. It is hard thinking long term on a diet like this, one day at a time I guess.

Welcome! One day at a time is how I take it. I'm on day 18 myself, it does get easier and even if you have a blip, just get back on it.:)

I am following your diary, good luck you can do it! I am only on day 4 myself but have lost 5lbs so far :)

5lbs in 4 days is excellent! I'm a daily weigher but I was going to try waiting for my weekly weigh in adds to the excitement.

Can't believe I have just been through a certain drive through with the kids and it didn't bother me at all. (Ask me again in 2 days time!)

Drunk 3l of water and have a shake to go

I'm coming to the end of day 3 and so far so good! Great to have a few of us starting around the same time!

thanks jane, it is nice to have support isn't it.

Well done for getting through the drive through, i have not even attempted it yet lol.

Sounds like a good day one. Well done. :)

Sat down for the evening with a coke zero and only realised half way through it was a cherry coke zero. I have tried searching if this is allowed I know coke zero is but not sure about the cherry one. I have bought a pack of 8, could anyone tell me if this is ok or have I ruined it on my first day?

Help!

Help!

Just sat down with a coke zero and only realised half way through that it was cherry coke zero. I have tried searching if this is ok but with no luck. I know coke zero is ok but could anyone tell me if the cherry one is ok? Or have I ruined it on my first day!

I honestly don't know but please don't have the attitude that you have 'ruined it' on day one because of one drink!! That kind of thinking is what can lead you to going off track for a whole day or worse, several days. It's a blip. Treat it as such and get straight back to doing the right things right away. I speak from experience as I've several blips during my 39 days on this to date, including as recently as last night when I had a round of toast. But if I'd had the attitude of 'I've ruined it' I might have gone on to have several more and then moved on to the chocolate stash! Seriously, it's not that big a deal but don't drink anymore of them until you know whether it's OK. :)

Thanks for the advice? day 1 has gone well and I don't even feel hungry

Well day 2 and all going well. I'm not going to let the cherry coke incident worry me. It's so nice not to feel bloated. I couldn't resist but have a cheeky look on the scales this morning even though I promised I wouldn't. Thought if I see the scales change it would spur me on. Couldn't quite believe I have lost 5lbs already! Is that right? Probably because I made a pig of myself the night before I started but so pleased yay!

I only drink the Cherry version of Coke zero and it's never been a problem. Must admit I hadn't given it a thought that it might not be ok.

Well done on getting to day two & for such a good loss. The first week loss is always very rewarding as we lose a lot of fluid weight. I think its suppose to average out to approx 1 stone a month so well worth sticking too.

Keep your fluid intake up as it will help with any headache that some people get as they go into ketosis. Hope today goes well x

No headaches as yet thank goodness and hopefully the trips to the toilet will calm down soon! Trying to keep busy and with the sun shining perfect day to kick open the windows and have a housework blitz. Enjoy your day!
