Total Solution Abigail's Diary.

So I'd thought I'd start writing a diary as it seems to be working well for others. I'm 21 and 5ft 7. This time last year I was 16st but managed to lose 2st with exercise and a few adjustments to my diet. Nothing major. Just a slow gradual loss. I have gained a stone lost a stone gained and lost and just been stuck in a cycle. On the 16th of May I jumped on the scales and saw 14st and thought this is it. I need to lose weight! With summer round the corner and a new job in August I want to be the girl I know I can be. My mother did lighter life last year and lost 4st in 3 months. Absolutely incredible. She also managed to do the "Coast-to-coast" walk - 144 miles in 12 days, while on three shakes a day! She truly is an inspiration. This time it's my turn. I chose exante as it's a little more suitable to my student budget and I can't be dealing with weekly weigh-ins with consultants etc. So I ordered my packs and started on the 19th at 14st. I've since managed to lose a stone and my next weigh in is this coming Monday. I'm a daily weigher I just can't help it! But the scales have just not been budging this week. I'm hoping it's no pounds lost but big inches shifted. We shall see. I haven't been measuring myself as I tend to rely on my weight. My first goal is to lose another stone by the end of June and hopefully be in the 11s and then another stone by the end of July to be in the 10s. Not sure what my goal weight will be. I'll just wait and see what I look like and what I'm comfortable at! Anyway that's me :D.

My morning routine is a black coffee in the garden (weather permitting) and browsing through all the forums on here. Keeps me motivated for the day. I haven't slipped once yet in the three weeks I've been doing exante. And I'm lucky to say I don't feel any temptation to eat and find it really therapeutic cooking for my sister and boyfriend occasionally through the week. I'm really hoping I can keep this up. I don't want to spend my 20s overweight and unhappy!

With my last exam on Tuesday and summer holidays coming up it's all about keeping organised. I'm a boredom eater! So need to plan my time to keep busy and stay on track.

It's my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday and were all going out for a big meal. I will be attending to celebrate and catch up with the family but have decided I will not be eating with them. I feel if I have a small meal, as healthy as it might be, it will be an excuse to eat something else then a little something else until I say "well I've ruined it now" and go on a big binge! I'm so focused and can't let anything stop me.

I will keep you all updated with my losses and challenges. And look forward to reading about all yours!

Good luck to everyone on their journey.

Welcome to the forum Abigail. Your determination reads loud & clear through your post so try not to be disheartened that the scales have stayed the same this week. Sometimes it happens & then a bigger loss follows.

You're are right about the eating getting out of control so if you feel that you can't trust yourself to eat then don't. Do you have any bars that you can take with you for the celebration.

Well done on coming this far & good luck for your final exam.

Have a good day xx

You definitely have the right attitude keep it up you are doing really well! X

Thank you all for your kind words. :).
My grandparents anniversary was absolutely lovely and just so good to catch up with all the family. It was a catered sit down meal which was a little awkward but I managed! BBQ and a full table of different salads and nibbly bits followed in the evening but managed to resist temptation.

I think back before I started the diet and having that spread in front of me I would have kept picking and picking all evening. Probably not even hungry but just because it's there! I've started looking a lot more at the nutritional info on food and I can't believe just how much carbs and fat there are in some things! Really makes me think what I was putting in my body!

I would have killed for a glass of wine though! Sitting outside in the beautiful sunshine a glass of rose would have gone down nicely. I think being designated driver was the only thing that stopped me from ordering a bottle!

All in all I had a 100% day and feel so proud of myself this morning. Ready and determined to start the new week. :).

After the scales and I falling out this week (they just weren't budging) we have rekindled our friendship after a 3lb loss!! 17lbs in three weeks! After my exam tomorrow I will be upping the exercise and aiming for a 4lb loss next Monday.

Hope everyone is going strong and having a lovely day in this glorious weather :D.

Good luck to you all.

Abigail :).

Well done for the loss and you should be very proud of yourself for avoiding the temptation keep it up! X

Well done on your 3lb loss this week and your amazing willpower at your grandparents' 60th anniversary.

Well done you! X

So I was back to UNI today for my last exams after three weeks study leave. Can't believe how many people commented on my weight loss so far. Really gives you such a boost! Last exams went so well and there's now a huge weight off my shoulders (+ bum and thighs too) :D. Spent the afternoon celebrating in the pub garden and very proud to say only sparkling water for me! Sitting in the sunshine in my jeans just encouraged me even more. I will not spend another summer in jeans or leggings it will be beautiful dresses and shorts to show off my new skinny legs!

Feeling on such a high today. Roll on those 11s.

Hope everyone is going strong and enjoying the weather :).

It's great when other people notice your weight loss. You're doing great x

Great to hear you sounding so upbeat. You'll be in the 11s in no time. :)

I'm loving the sparkling water!
Have had a lovely day off. Biked to Hyde park with the OH and spent the afternoon in the sunshine. Just glorious. Diet wise all is well. Glad to see everyone is doing great. :).

So weigh in this morning sees another 3lbs loss. 20lbs in total. 9lbs to go to take me into the 11s! Doesn't feel that far away. Onwards and downwards :D. Good luck to everyone this week.
