This time I will do it!!

It's been a tough couple of months which knocked me off the diet but this time I'm ready to go the distance. Yesterday someone congratulated my mum on my pregnancy - I'm NOT pregnant!! I'm a size 12 with a curvy tummy. Under normal circumstances a comment like that is enough to make me diet but yesterday of all days was my Grandfather's funeral talk about a major blow. Today is a new day and this time I will do it. Here goes...

Aw that's a bit of a tough knock especially on such an emotional day.

Well done on making the decision to give it another go. Good luck :) x

Thanks Bob and Suzie. Well I have to admit that the day I posted that I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to diet. I was so upset by the comment made at the funeral that I wasn't dieting for me but to spite some unkind person I hardly know. Anyway, I've been back on the diet for a week and have lost 4.5lb at WI this morning. Onwards and downwards :)

One week later I'm another 2.5lbs down, so 7lbs in total. My measurements are starting to show the real story as 2" off my waist, 1.25" off my tummy and 1.25" off my hips. Denims are feeling more comfortable again. Thanks goodness this mindset looks like it's staying, at no point have I considered eating something I can't have :)

Well done, keep going!

Aiming to be a size 14!

Woohoo! 2lbs off in the last two days and I feel amazing! Off for a walk now as I should really start exercising more to shift the wobbly bits. Is it just me, or does anyone else worry about adding weight while exercising? I know that muscle weighs more than fat, etc. but just now I'm obsessed with the scales!!

Well done on your loss! Just as long as you don't overdo the exercise you will be fine. Plus measuring is a great way to notice the inches coming off even if the scales don't

I have noticed the inches coming off and I've done a bit of research into trying to lose my thunder thighs. I know it's impossible to spot reduce but apparently walking with the correct posture can work wonders. So I tried it yesterday and today I can feel a difference in the inner thighs and backside, all good :)

How's it going Whimsyfae?

All good thanks, Heatwave. That stubborn pound which hinted at coming off on Friday is fully off today! That makes 11lb off in total. I'm so happy. So far overall measurements are coming down and I'm finding less (and sometimes no) overspill on some of my demins. I had a big function on last night and wore a top I always thought was like a sausage skin before - very unattractive, lol. It felt amazing. Now something has come up for the weekend and I need a quick shopping spree for a couple of outfits. How's things with you? Must catch up on the diaries later! Have a great day x

11lbs is amazing! You should be so proud of yourself for sticking with it. Any excuse for a shopping spree is what I say. When you know you look good in something don't you think you walk taller and that also makes you look slimmer?

Absolutely! I feel I'm walking taller and slimmer already. The shopping trip was a success in as much as I bought a few new tops to see me through the weekend and beyond. I'm between sizes though and a few things I thought would be great were too big but no smaller size available. Think I really need to wait until I get to target weight and hopefully my bust will have gone down enough to fit the smaller size :)

Well I went away for the weekend and fell off the wagon. I had good intentions but with my weight loss slowing right down I got fed up and reckoned a carb injection might feed the weight loss when I got home and back on track. Since last week I've had a haircut and started wearing lippy and everyone has been commenting on my new look, not that I've lost almost a stone. People are funny :)

Thankfully the 4lbs!!! I had put on over the weekend have started coming off. Only one more to go and hopefully at least another one by Tuesday and I'll be back on track. It's so annoying that two days can put you back a whole week. I knew it at the time but still ate the wrong stuff, I really need to be more strict with myself, lol

Uh I hate how much even one day off can put you behind where you want to be - and I have had several lol!! It seems unfair that it can go
On but not off in one day!! I think most of mine have been worth it though and were planned, only one or two I was really annoyed with myself about!

I know, Bob. Why can't what goes on in one day come off at the same rate? Grrr. Tuesday is my official weigh in day and finally the 4lbs I out on last weekend have come off along with another pound. It feels like it's been a long time since I was this weight but according to an app I was this weight last August. I really need to stop this putting on and taking off the same stone every year.

Last night people finally started to notice I'd lost weight which felt great. Up until last week they'd reckoned it was my hair cut and lipstick rediscovery that had changed my appearance. I even had one friend (male) last night tell me how good I looked and when I said I'd been dieting his exact comment was "well you've been putting it on for a while". Well there's a back handed compliment if ever there was one. Humph!

Lol!! To be fair, I wish someone had said outright to me that I'd put a fair old but of weight on back in the days when I was skinny(er!) a friend complained the other week that she had put over a stone on, and you could tell, but rather than agree I just sort of said "oh really, well you can't tell" which is actually probably not helpful but maybe if we were all a bit more tactfully honest we'd have less yoyoing!! My sister and I have promised each other we're going to be brutally honest with each other about weight now to help keep us accountable!! And on here obviously!! :)

True, more honesty would stop us all from Yoyo-ing. It's one thing for me to think I've put on weight but another for someone else to comment on it. I think I should keep my tactless friend nearby when I start maintaining as I'm sure he'll tell me if I've put on as much as a pound, lol x
