Total Solution My Small, Skinny Exante Wedding

I'm a newbie to Exante, but not to losing weight. I'm a former Slimming Worlder who managed to lose over three and a half stone, but then put half of it back on again. I've slowly lost 8lbs of that and taken the plunge starting Exante yesterday with my future hubby as Wednesday weighers. We are on the bars along because frankly making shakes is barely worth the effort and I like to chew on things to make me feel I've had a meal.

We've only got the Hot Cross Bun, Red Berry and Double Chocolate flavours... and I can't stand the double chocolate one, so we didn't get off to a good start yesterday but I stuck with it. Today I'm feeling much better about the whole thing though - I've had at least two litres of liquid and two bars into my three per day without any major dramas aside from teeny tiny headaches (nothing like I'm expecting for the ketosis kick!) so today I'm going to brave my Body Pump DVD and some yoga to get the exercise going. If that doesn't kill me, we'll keep at that for a bit and see how we go!

We are off to Prague with my grandparents in just under 3 weeks (where we will not be munching Exante bars!) but would like a good few pounds off before we go. After that, we've no target before our November 2015 wedding (just over a year and counting! Eeek!) - preferably looking at three stone or so off before February 2014 leaving me 7 months or so to find that perfect dress!

Wish me luck! oxo

Welcome to the forum, you could get a stone off by the time you go to Prague. Hopefully drinking the fluids will help with the headache.

Good luck this week x

Hi there nearly mrsd.

I'm just starting out as well so wish you the best of luck. Honestly though, try the meals.... They do become yummy ( eventually )

Good luck..

A stone off before we go would be ace, but I'm not going to get too ahead of myself. We're on day three now and it's been relatively easy so far - I was really hungry last night but that passed by this morning where I've had another hot cross bun bar. Other half couldn't stomach his third bar last night - wasn't hungry and said he didn't want to eat it for the sake of it. I smacked him one, but it's clearly working for him as according to our scales he's shifted six pounds in two days (he has a fair bit more to lose than me) but I'm down two and a half, despite not being in ketosis yet. It's looking promising people!

We are on the bars because we got them on clearance and frankly, we're lazy. If we're not having proper meals, then we don't want to spend time preparing them and certainly not washing up after them! I might try a few of the ready meals on the next go around in a week or so (we've still got a fortnight's worth of stuff to get through) but I'll probably stick to bars for the most part so I don't get too hacked off with having to prepare my "meals". That's what makes me end up cheating.

Do you guys drink Coke Zero or Dr Pepper Zero? I know the Exante book says 330ml a day, but some posts on here suggest you can drink as much as you like? Any first hand experience?

Hi FutureMrsD.

Welcome to the forum and well done on making it to day 3. If memory serves, days 3-5 can be the toughest as that's when ketosis is coming in and so your body is fighting to see whether you'll up the calories. So make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids.
In regards to bars, I understand what you mean, I only use the shakes as I don't like the bars or the meals, and I don't like having to wash up for a small portion lol.
It depends on the individual in regards to Coke Zero/ Dr Pepper Zero as some people are more sensitive than others when in ketosis to it. My best advice would be is try and set a limit per day and see how it goes and if you're not losing much later down the line, cut back on it and see if it helps.
Anyways, good luck with your dieting and looking forward to seeing your week 1 weigh in!

:)

Hi, good luck, sounds like your doing great. I think it's finding what works for you, I like a mix bars, shakes and meals, I find too much of one and I get bored, it's nice having some variety. Regards to the coke zero, I generally just have a can, sometimes I'll push it and have a bottle but I don't have much more than that. I also like the Exante drinks mixes, they are lovely as a hot drink, a little sweet but sometimes that helps with cravings.
This forum helps a lot, there's always someone there with support and advice.

Thanks ladies, I think I'll just use them as a craving suppressor and try not to use them more than I feel a need to! It's helping the other half having a can a day though and it certainly doesn't seem to be having an effect on his weight loss if our scales are to be believed! I'm concentrating on my water intake today - maybe if I fill myself up with that, the old thoughts of Friday Night Treat will be a bit easier to resist!

I fancy the mulled wine drinks mix - might pop one into the basket when we order our next batch. If it tastes anything like the real thing I'll be made up!

I tend to save the coke Zero as a treat really.y maximum has been. 2 cans and didn't notice it effecting my weight loss. I also have a mug of bouillon now and then if i'm getting board with the pack
