Dietninja returns...3 months to slimdom

Dietninja

Mostly plant based
And Dietninja is back in the game! Got my game head on, and more determined than ever. I need a challenge for 2015 and this is it! I've done loads of stuff but the one thing I've never done is lose weight and keep it off for more than 6 months.

So my goal is to diet until April 2015, then maintain whatever weight I reach until Christmas 2015. At that point I'll make a decision about further weightloss or maintaining. it'll be a challenge! My reward? A place in the 2016 New York Marathon. I've always wanted to do it and it'll take me that long to save up!!!

So after a very indulgent Christmas I feel HUGE! So I feel the need to do something drastic to start with...bring on the food packs! I've done S&S before but need something new, so I'm going to do 28 days of Exante, with the aim of losing a stone and a half by the end of January when I'll probably switch to Slimming World, but will play it by ear.

i know it's going to be hard but I need to remember this feeling...I'm bloated, knackered, none of my clothes fit comfortably, my running is really slow and I'm starting to have sleep, allergy and asthma type problems because of my weight.

I have ordered a 4 week mixed bundle which should arrive Tues, and I have a few slim & save packs left over so I can start tomorrow. I should be into ketosis before I start work again.

]I am a single mum so will still have to cook for my girls. But I can do this.

My single food pass is for New Years Eve when I intend to eat a protein meal and have one glass of champagne. I know I can do this. 28 days to kickstart the biggest challenge I've faced...leaving behind my fat self.... Bring it on!!

Day 1/28 Monday 29th December

Ex: walking
Water: 1.5 litres so far

8am large black coffee
1pm S&S spag bol pack
3pm large black coffee

Went into town and "had lunch" with my daughters at the Boston Tea Party who do scrummy food. There was a naughty little devil voice on my shoulder (you can start again tomorrow when your packs arrive etc etc) but I guess I'm going to have to get used to saying "No" to that inner voice that wants to lead me astray. Every day counts, there is no tomorrow and the sooner I shift this weight the happier I'll be. So black coffee it is.

I started today, also. I hate the way I look and feel at the moment and you're absolutely right that we need to hold onto those feelings to push us forward. We can do this - we WILL do this :)

Day 1/28 Monday 29th December - UPDATED

I'm treating today as a warm up...I did well until we spent too long in town, I got overly hungry and ended up in Nandos...all low carb, so I'm still pleased...could have been so much worse.

Ex: walking Water: 1.5 litres so far

8am large black coffee
1pm S&S spag bol pack
3pm large black coffee
5pm 1/2 chicken without skin, salad (no dressing) , ratatouille, coke zero
7pm black tea

Total cals: 660
Total carbs: 31g

So still v much in vlcd territory.

Hello and good luck :) we're gonna rock this :) looking forward to my packs arriving tomorrow.

Ok so confession time...I just hadn't planned well enough to make a start...I got caught without packs (my delivery didn't arrive until late afternoon) I didn't space them out well in the first day and didn't have any bars to take with me, my period started, so I felt crummy, and my New Year's Eve plans have changed and it would be awkward to stay on packs.

Now I know these are just excuses, but what it boils down to is a fresh start on Jan 1st.

To ensure this is a success, I'm going reasonably low carb tomorrow, and limiting alcohol to 3 drinks so I don't have a hangover.

I will also give any leftover food to my gannet ex (who is stick thin, of course), to take away.

The most difficult time will come on Saturday as I've got six kids for a sleepover for my daughters birthday. This will entail very little sleep and copious amounts of junk. Urghh. And yet more leftovers.

Here's the back up plan...

1. Coke zero as a treat
2. Lots of water
3. All junk to be divided up into goodie bags or given to ex
4. Do my work...it's got to be done and will keep me busy.
5. Incase of emergency only...2 hard boiled eggs.

I'll be back to work on day 5, but at least time flies at work, as I'm so busy. Good luck all restarts!

Really good plan stick to it...as you sound like yor defo in control :)

Well done you x

Finally, my head is in the right place. Day 1 today...

Here's the plan

11am - 1st pack and 1st litre of water down

1pm large black coffee

4pm - 2nd pack and 2nd litre of water deadline

8pm - 3rd pack and 3rd litre of water deadline

Bed!!!

Better get scoffing that water. Gonna download me an app...

I've decided that I'm not allowed a pack unless I have drunk a litre of water before (spread out, before I have the pack) so that I get a minimum of 3 litres down.

So I drank a litre during the morning then had my first pack...now I'm on my second litre.

I'm sitting in subway supping my water. Everything smells yummy but I can resist. Meeting a friend in Costa shortly where I'll have a large black coffee. I have a bar with me just in case (Exante let you have bars straight off). Not sure what pack to have for tea. I had white choc & rasp shake for breakfast and it was scrummy!

Subscribed and following :D

Have you had the pb exante bars? I dont like the gloopy ones....the red berry and the choc ones...the texture just makes me cringe. lol. But the pb choc one looks tempting...unless its gloopy too!

doing well, honey. keep it up!

I had to laugh at your nando's "binge". you did phenomenally well...we can be so hard on ourselves...and always thinking the worst. well done though. :) xx

Welcome beelishy. Looking forward to you joining us in vlcd pack-land!

I love the idea of the peanut butter bars, but there weren't any in my pack. I had a toffee, but and raisin bar. It was fine, vlcd-speaking...things taste different when you're only eating 600 cals a day...I quite enjoyed it and I certainly found it much more filling than the slim n save ones. Not had any other bars, yet...

So 2 packs down, 2 litres water down, and one to go, which I'll have later tonight.

I posted this on another thread. We were contemplating maintenance, and given that I have reached my target weight four or five times in the last 2 decades, with every type of diet, but never maintained, it's something I really need to focus on this time rounds

I know why I regain weight EVERY time, regardless of what diet I'm on...I take my eye off the ball. I'm really good at stuff when I'm focused on it and it's my priority, but when I lose weight it stops being my priority, and then something else takes over, and then I gain a little, then I think "I'll start again tomorrow" which turns into the next day etc...

I'm such an all or nothing person (which is why this diet appeals!) but this time I need to master the art of looking after myself and juggling more than one priority. Not sure how I'm going to achieve that yet but I am NOT going to spend my forties like my twenties & thirties...yo-yoing up and down, wearing my emotional state on my waistline.

Good luck Dietninja. You are so right about how exhausting yo-yoing is, mentally & physically. I only managed to hit target once about 6 years ago, ever since then my weight has constantly been up & down.

We need to take a step back & learn how to nip poor eating habits in the bud once & for all x

Too true. I know it's not going to be easy but I'm open to learning...

Fri 2 Jan

3 litres of water (plus 2 coffees and a herbal tea)

12 noon - rasp & white choc pack

4pm - toffee nut & raisin bar

8pm - 2 boiled eggs, small portion of broccoli, tomato & basil soup

800 / 59
Steps: 10020 (yes I did walk round the house a couple of times to get my numbers up!!)

Add in one shaky spell and a grumpy evening and day 1 is DONE!
