My Name is Nicola.
I first started to diet when at 23 I found I was 12st 12lbs having never been overweight just seemed to be oblivious to it how it happened. I tried to lose it but from that day on yoyo'd my way through my 20s never keeping it off and my weight gradually creeping up and up after every attempt.
I used lipotrim for 4 months before my wedding when I was 30 and got a few stone down.. and straight back on again.
So then for about 5 years after that I was 15 stone. :-( Then 2 years ago I had twins and to my horror I'm another 2 stone up since having them. And now I'm not pregnant, but I look like I'm due another set of twins. :-( I've got to do something. I'm not comfortable in my skin. I'm constantly waiting for people to ask when I'm 'due' and I may as well still be in my maternity clothes. It's on my mind constantly that I'm obese and it's not ok and it not what I want to be :-(

My husband gave up smoking 3 years ago and his weight has ballooned, so he wants to do this with me. We just want to get healthy for ourselves and the kids.

Time to take control! My order arrived and I've jumped right in with shepherd's pie for dinner. Couldn't wait til the morning to get going.

Here's to a healthy BMI for everyone in 2015 xx

Welcome to the forum Nicola & good luck to the both of you x

Welcome Nicola :) Good luck to you and your hubby

Thanks for the welcome and the good wishes.

Day 1 going ok so far.

I had the raspberry porridge. I ate it, but I'm not a fan. I found it sickly sweet. I'll try the porridge oats tomorrow and see how that goes.

I'm here in work thinking about my elevenses. Usually when I'm hungry I eat and thats that lol so habit is making me think ohhhh what will I have.... That's a cycle I'll gladly break.

Can't wait to start seeing results.

Good luck today Nicola, the first few days are the toughest so hang in there.
I love the plain porridge, its a little sweet but by the sounds of it not as sweet as the raspberry one x

It feels like yesterday when I had the raspberry porridge! Must have been a long day lol.

I had a bar for lunch but by 6:30 this evening I was ready to kill for something to eat. So I had the carbonara and I really enjoyed it. Felt like a proper meal rather than the shakes which were my only choice when I did lipotrim. I think a'dinner' pack in the evening might work for me.

I think I'm going to be a serial weigher. I know I'll try not to but won't be able to resist. I've already been on it after only 24 hrs dieting lol.

Susie I'm enjoying trying all these packs plus people in work don't notice anything different with the porridge because it's something I would have had in the mornings anyway. Not ready for people's opinions on the diet yet so the porridge is a good cover.

Have you tried the apple and cinnamon one?

Day 3
Porridge oats for breakfast. Nice!

Wasn't hungry this morning so I might be over the hump and in ketosis.. I'm sure I'll know around lunchtime. It'd be great if I am.

I've tomato and basil soup with me for lunch. Another meal that my coworkers won't have a clue it's a diet.

Really enjoying my 6 week mixed diet box I ordered. Excited to try one of everything. Hubby tried the pasta ham and mushroom soup yesterday and really liked it.

So we're on the right track. Long may the days be easy like this.

Having a variety to choose from makes it a little easier to stay on track.

A lot of the time it is a lot simpler to keep this diet to ourselves, no one to wind us up then :).

Well done on getting another day done & dusted x

Thanks girls.

Another day done!

My brother called over this evening.... Where do you hide 6 weeks of exante packets, for fear of him finding out??... no where. I gave up and let him in on the secret and he was really supportive. He's a fitness freak; iron man, triathlons, marathons and exercising because he likes to :) so he had some good advice. Good to have that support.

Can't wait to finish my first week but I'm travelling abroad with work all next week so won't have a scales! Seriously considering packing it along with my 21 sachets!!!!

Sounds like you're doing really well :D Hopefully ketosis has kicked in now. It's a pain hiding the diet from people isn't it, but I just can't be bothered with all the explanations anymore lol. Glad you have support from your brother :) Hope your week away goes well, but please leave the scales at home lol. Week 2 is tough enough as it is without those horrid scales. I made the mistake of weighing mid week and the hadn't moved. Put me on a bit of a downer. Lost almost 3lb when official weigh day came around.

Day 4

I gave in and stood on the scales and I'm 7lbs down woohoo. Serious motivator. I love this diet :-D

Breakfast Eggs for breakfast. Nice to eat with a knife and fork!
Chocolate orange bar just now. Yumm and loads of it.
1 more packet to go, not sure what I'll have yet.

I was out today for a last minute unplanned lunch, so I just made excuses and said I'd already eaten but I'd go for a coffee. I wasn't even temped to pick at anything. So another god day for me. Definitely in ketosis, easily enough, I didn't get may of the side effects like the head ache or coldness, I was waiting for them all.

Hubby is doing great on mainly soups and shakes.

This diet is really giving us a break in the evenings from cooking and during the day thinking about what to have for breakfast and lunch. A welcome break. I made a huge chicken pasta bake last night and meatballs for the kids, portioned it and froze it. Between that an the other homecooked food in the freezer we can take a break from the kitchen, and he's sorted for when I'm away.

Jayne I think you're right - I'll leave the scales and just concentrate on the diet. If I'm sticking to it the scales will show.

Nic.

Fab loss so far Nicola, Makes going through the first few days worth it.

Always a bonus to have a break from cooking now & then.x

Day 5

I have to post!! Maple syrup pancakes deliciousness!!!!!
Definitely gonna be my breakfast 'treat' for the weekend.

I'm delighted with life. The little things eh!?

End of Day 5.

I had the toffee raisin bar for lunch and Gooey chocolate pudding this evening. Yumm did not feel like a diet lol. 7 more of those to have from the 6 week diet pack. Another one for the weekend that's methinks. The Exante food isn't too bad!

I'm doing good generally. Was at a birthday party and managed to not eat cake and no one noticed. The joys of being distracted with the kids.

I am so determined to change my life and lose this 7 stone. Feeling very strong at the moment.

Hi Girl. We have the same amount to lose. Only I am much smaller (5' 4") so you'll look slender long before I do! I love the chocolate pudding. And the lemon bars. The savoury meals I can't get into but I quite like the egg and sausage packs. Good luck! x

That's brilliant, we have the exact same goals !
I love that in your profile stats your weight to lose is 5st13, even that 1lb into the 5st range is fantastic! I just can't wait to get over that first stone loss as well. I've resisted the scales since my midweek weigh-in, but hubby has weighted himself after 4 days and he's lost 12lbs! It just falls off the men!

Day 6 (or is it!)

I'm all messed up after starting my packs as soon as they arrived so about 6 in the evening. So officially I'm not in day 6 until this evening. Ugh. And my first week weigh - in should be before dinner on Tuesday. So I think I'll make this day 5 again and make my weigh - in Wednesday morning.

Im better equipped now with a mini mls jug and a handheld battery operated whisk. Shaker will be coming in my next order. So im even more committed now.

I'd the Blueberry smoothy for breakfast. Yum!
Sausage mix - grand! For lunch.

Made the kids a ham and cheese omelette for lunch and my god, the smell of melted cheese (sorry! ) tasty and tempting!!!! But it was after that I decided to have the sausage mix. Not sure if I felt hungry or just felt 'want' but whatever it was it was strong!! But I'm over it now.

There are going to be so many times I'll be tempted but I know i have to focus on my reasons for starting this and the end goal.
