Hi everyone,

Well, just like most of you I guess, I've tried most diets out there even the cabbage soup one (trust me, it's not pleasant for my hubby and colleagues lol). The best so far was Cambridge back in 2009 and I had managed to loose 3 stones. Then I decided to quit smoking and I started working from home... And all the weight creeped back on times 2...
It's going to be my hubby and I 10th anniversary in May and I want to be able to fit in my wedding dress again to renew our vows... And then we are going to Egypt for 2 weeks at the end of June and I want to be able to be on pictures without having to worry about how I will look and try to hide myself... And wear a bikini again! OMG, that would be so nice!
Anyway, my goal is to lose 7 stones and, although I'm pretty sure it won't be possible by then, I want to drop 4 sizes at least... Well I hope to...

From what I can read, Exante seems a lot easier to stick to and the various "food" seems good. My husband and I are both doing it together so it should also help and we are starting on Monday. But I will still have to cook for my 9 year old ?

But hey, I'm positive and I'll stick to it all the way until I hit my goal!

Welcome Steph!

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your journey and hope to see you posting some fantastic losses. :)

Hello Steph and welcome to the Exante section! I think you'll enjoy the diet because the products mostly taste very good and there are lots to choose from. You're a VLCD veteran so you know that the first week may be tough (LOL) but give it your best shot and you'll get a great loss. Keep posting!

Well, just had my last meal... An all you can eat Chinese... I did binge eat this weekend just to be fed up with food... And I hope it will work...

First day tomorrow and looking forward to it!

Morning all, well, first day went alright. Had maple syrup pancakes for breakfast, carbonara for lunch and moussaka for dinner. I have to admit it is a lot better than I expected, and definitely so much better than Cambridge!!! What I liked about Exante when I found them was the fact that it feels like you have a "normal" dinner... Well, as normal as it can be with sachets...

Anyway, I've drunk 3 litres of water and a few coffees on top... Which means that I was going to the loo every 5 min! I guess fizzy water doesn't help but I can drink it easily compared to still water...

I did start thinking about food ALL afternoon as I was getting hungry but I know its going to be hard the first few days until I get into ketosis.

Let's do day 2 now!

Hi Steph, welcome to Exante. I prefer it to the other vlcds too. I love my coffee and fizzy water too. When your tongue gets fuzzy you know you're on the right track. I've just restarted so hopefully after tomorrow we will both be well and truly into it.

How romantic to wear your dress again for vow renewal. What a goal! Good luck on your journey x

thanks Angel, good luck to you too. It's not easy but we can do it! I have been less hungry yesterday which made it a bit more manageable.
How were your first couple of days?

Day 2 went well. 3 litres of water and pancakes (blueberry) for breakfast, sheppards pie for lunch and curry for dinner. Happy with all 3 to be honest.

Hubby had bad cramps yesterday but he knew they were going to happen... Just have to go through that stage.

Day 3 went ok. Breakfast eggs, bolognese and sausage to eat. We decided to take our son to the swimming pool last night for an hour and a half and that was a bad idea. When I went to bed I had a very sharp pain in my lower abdomen. It took about 20min to go. This morning I got up and felt really light headed and hot. So sipping on a shake and water now to try and cool down.

Anyone else got those side effects?

Hi Steph, some people react to the sudden intake of vitamins which makes them go to the loo a bit more initially (extra vitamins seem to make things look yellow). It happened the first time I started Exante but not since and only lasted a couple of days. My husband has the opposite problem!

I tend to feel chilly in the evening and warm in the morning when I'm in the swing of it. Make sure you drink plenty of water but I've never had pain so you might want to see your doc if it persists, especially if you have a temp.

Im mostly a shake girl with maximum one of the bars in the day. I've tried the new curries and like them and I love the porridge. No tummy upsets so far.

Hope you're both ok.

the pain was a one off for me, but it's daily for my husband which, from what I could read on the Exante website, is not uncommon as the body is going through a tough time.
It's been easy ish so far so wouldn't want to stop now lol

Day 4 - strawberry and banana smoothie, carbonara and Red bean chilli. The red bean is surprisingly really good and is one of my favourites. Even the smoothie was quite nice and I drunk it easily. The shaker Exante give FOC worked a treat.
I've just ordered some of the new sweet and sour noodles as my husband is badly missing his Chinese take away so I'm hoping it will help a little. And the offer was good so decided to try.
I'm in full ketosis now which I can feel as I wasn't hungry much yesterday. Definitely makes it that little bit easier to stick to it.
I'm slightly dreading my first weekend even if I'm going to do my weigh in on Sunday...

Hiya Steph!

Stay strong, you'll be glad you did when that weigh in comes around! My birthday on Monday so I'm also trying to be strong and resist the invitation to go out with family over the weekend :argh:

I figure that its worth sticking as closely to the plan as possible to get the results you want.

Good luck with the rest of your week and keep us updated on your WI!

Polly x

Day 6 ad it's been a rough weekend. And we really were tempted to order a take away, but instead we had half an extra pack of the chocolate pudding each and it made such a difference!!! We know it won't kick us out of ketosis but it was so nice it tasted like a normal choc pudding and it felt like we were having a normal diner!

Ive ordered the new sweet and sour noodles on Friday so should get them tomorrow. Can't wait to taste them.

Had a beef casserole and a moussaka and they are both disgusting.

Anyway, I weighed myself and I lost over 13 pound which is great! I'd be happy if I can loose 8 to 10 pounds each week. I hope this is achievable.

Start of week 2 tomorrow. Let's hope it goes as well as week 1.

Wow 13lb is super for first week. Well done on sticking to the plan. Don't worry if week 3 losses slow down just remember it's pure fat by then. A pound of fat is alot! Have a great week c

thanks Angel, it's hard but worth it. I just hope the weight loss won't slow down too much as I have a lot to loose by the end of June lol
