Exante Ice Cream ThickShake

Hi,

I've been on Exante for just a week now , doing shakes and bars only as ive tried the soups before and didnt like them .

Well anyway i have done exante before and i found the shakes a real struggle being really watery so i couldnt hack it :sigh: This recipe has probably been done before and recommended loads but i thought id keep people informed especially with the lovely weather at the moment it makes a great way to enjoy meal times. A little 'treat' is a great motivator.;)

As a dessert lover through and through i have found my exante ice cream shake really hits the spot and enjoy my shakes.

Method

  • In jug place approximately 12 ice cubes ( the more the ice cubes the thicker the shake) and the tiniest bit of cold water ( no more than 100ml)
  • Place exante shake power on top ( and any additional sweeteners)
  • Blend with electric blender ( be careful of powder spitting back at you , this will VERY noisy and may take a few minutes)
  • Pour little bits of water in to help the blender out a bit
  • Pour into glass or bowl and enjoy with a straw or spoon (depending on thickness)
You should end up with a consistency of between a really thick frappucino drink and stirred (but not melted) ice cream! I have to use a spoon to eat this stuff and so it takes a while to eat and i really enjoy it ! I can upload pics so people can see what they end up like:eek:

Great Recipe -- I add a couple sweeteners to mine :D sweet tooth

I've left having my second shake too late and am subsequently drained n jittery but on this hot day as soon as I get enough energy il be trying this in a minute :-D

That's sooooooooo nice you all got to got to try it!

I've got a smoothie2go, and I do the same recipe with mine! its great if you use coke zero and ice or flavoured water and ice as it makes it like a slush puppie! nomnom!

Mmmm thing is my smoothie maker has a big deeeeeeep jug n by the time I pour it out I lose half of it stuck to the jug lol petty but when it's a main meal lol.....

It is the only way i have my shakes now , i swear by it ! My favourite is definitely the strawberry with stevia sweeteners in it. Defintitely will have to try the coke zero approach ill just blitz my ice first and pour the coke over :)

Will definitely do this. I have just ordered the smoothie2go. The kids can wrap it up for a birthday present when it arrives :)

Sounds really good! Just need to get my head around having ice cream for dinner having just got my head around having shakes and bars for meals!!!! x

Tried it and it is heavenly! My next pack will be all shakes. I just love it, it makes dieting so easy!

Hi Renekot,
I love the shakes too and am going to just order shakes next time and a few bars, I feel I have to have the soups as I bought the mixed box, they're OK but I love the shakes with added decaf coffee in the vanilla and banana ones. Good luck with your weight loss.

I also have the smoothie2go and love it! Have tried the shakes in it but will defo be trying the coke zero slush when I get home tonight. I will just be getting shakes and bars next time as after only 2 weeks I have totally gone off the soups.

This is an amazing idea. I've tried it once with my not-so-friendly-to-ice blender and that was amazing enough but tomorrow my new smoothie2go arrives so I am super excited to get some super thick faux ice cream going on!

Hi guys i started 5days ago and i do the same with every shake except i use a hand blender and about 4 ice cubes and 250-300ml cold water from the fridge the colder the better and it makes a really think shake like Mcdonalds.I do not add any sweetners but what i do is with the vanilla shake i add a teaspoon of coffee and it makes it into a cafemocha style shake which is really tasty.Hope this helps :)

Great idea, off to tesco for coke zero, and ice!! looking forward to all of the ideas listed!!
I'm not keen on the shakes, but hoping this will help to keep me on track!!!

I am thinking about making mine with my kitchenaid icecream maker, it's not like I will be using it for anything else while I am dieting!

This is similar to how I have my shakes.... I pour about 150mls cold water into blender... then 3/4 of a tray of ice cubes. Blend. Then throw the rest in except for about 2 cubes then blend again. Then put the remaining cubes in whole, let it sit for 10 mins to get really thick and cold!
