Exercise and Exante

I was just wondering how much exercise people do on exante and what effect has it had? Greater weightloss? Less due to muscle?

I know exante recommend 20 mins daily.

In my first week I done 1 mile treadmill, 100 star jumps, 100 squats, 45 minute dog walk every day.

But, you have to remember that you will have next to no energy, so do what suits you, a easy long walk will be the same as a short run.

Buy a skipping rope, possibly one of the best forms of exercise you can do.

Wow thats quite a lot of exercise! Well done you :)

What effect did that have on your weight loss?

I am hoping to do a bit a day- perhaps after the first 2 weeks. I think I'll use exercise as a distraction from eating!

On a normal food diet, I could do anywhere up to 6 miles on the treadmill, a 30-45 minute session on the punch bag, 15 minutes no the speed ball and 45-1hr dog walk each day. But on exante I have no energy to do that. Exercise bike should be here soon so that will help, I'll do 5-10 mile per day on it as well as the other stuff.

It can have a very big effect on the weight loss, some may lose more without the exericse, everyone is different, but it DOES help.

Just start off light, and gradually add more time on what you do, set mile stones.

If you can it's best doing exercise on a morning, as after you finish your body will continue to burn carbs and calories (I know there's no carbs on exante).

Ahh thanks for your advice! I have a cross trainer and was aiming to do half hour a day- less to start off with maybe. Deffo need to exercise because don't want to be a bag of skin! I'll be doing lots of toning exercises!

So how long have you been on exante? Just having my first soup, finding it quite hard to drink!

I cycle to work and back each day (only 20 minutes in total) plus press-ups and sit-ups. I'm starting on the treadmill tomorrow but probably just for 15 minutes and build it up from there.

Funnily enough, i'm on day 3 and haven't felt tired or sh*tty at all.................so hoping i've skipped that bit lol x

That's good, I hope I feel like that on day 3- lots of people say thats the hardest day! Has ketosis kicked in yet?

For me its normally around day 5 that feels better. Regarding exercise I think it depends what you're used to. After the firts week your energy levels are likey to be higher than before you started. I would say do what youcan and follow your body to build up.

I've bene a bit on and off because of december/ christmas period with the diet but over that time have built up to exercising 4 times a week compared to twice a week in october and my body loves it now - I do longer and more frequent sessions and I think that helps with my energy and metabolism burning off the fat. Just don't overstretch in the firts week or two and it will come

it helps enormously in the weight loss as it increases your resting metabolism and also if you burn 300/400 calories a session and slip and have some food it probbaly cancels out

onwards and downwards ;-)

The cross trainer is brilliant and will also help as a toning up method.. Just add some squats and sit ups to your routine after a while.

Currently I've been on it for 9 days, but done a few months earlier this year.

Ah thank you both for the advice! I've got some toning equipment from a while ago and going to be putting those into my routine as well as lots of body buffing!

How are you both getting on with your weightloss?

That is really good you must be pleased! I hope I do well this week (first week). I don't want to be probably the first one not to lose weight on TS! Fingers crossed!

How are you getting on? My first weigh-in is Wednesday........what about yours?

Yeah okay- like the shakes and bars but found the soups hard to take so I mixed with a bit of water into a thick paste, put on baking paper and microwaved into a crisp and ate it that way! So much nicer! I don't really feel hungry, I'm more worried about the taste of the products!
My weigh in is Friday! I am just hoping I will have lost weight! Fingers crossed!

How are you getting on?

I know I'll end up weighing everyday which is why I'm going to hide the scales and have a grand suprise on Friday! How are you getting on spicypoppadom?

i'm doing OK and haven't felt rough yet although it's only day 4. I don't mind the soups but add lots of spices and a bit of worcester sauce (probably not a great idea) to make them edible. I'm drinking LOADS of water but still a bit hungry so hoping that will stop soon.

How long do you microwave the soup for as i haven't tried that? What was it like?

So is it day 2 for you?

That's good that you haven't felt rough- most people have said day 3 is the hardest! I'm going to try the thai chicken soup tomorrow- hopefully more flavour than the veg one. I microwave it for about 2 mins- depending on power! I burnt it a little today though doing it at my mums and not my microwave :S so much nicer and prefer it as its solid. Just had the carbonara with crushed peppercorns- I really liked it! My saving grace! I'm drinking loads too- I've never gone to the loo so much in my life! xx
