So I'm going to start the exante diet in January but I have 3 birthdays in between January and March, does any one have a day off during the diet?

People do. Some have a total blow out and then get straight back on it, knowing that they will have thrown themselves out of ketosis and my have put on water weight so accept that they may have a week when they don't lose anything or even have a small gain that will come back off again once they have depleted their glycogen stores. Others have a controlled break when they eat but stay off carbs so they go over their calorie count but stay in ketosis. Again, you will probably have a reduced weight loss but you will know that this will happen and just accept it and don't let it disappoint you. The important thing is to get straight back on the diet. Good luck when you start in January. You will get lots of support on here.

I have 1 day a week where I eat what I want within reason, up my calories to about 1500...i have found this is the only way to keep my metabolism in check. Some people are fine with this and others aren't. If I do WS all week, with no break, the follwoing week my weight loss is slower as my metabolism has slowed down. One normal day for me (no bread or pasta though) ensures my weightloss is consistent and prepare's me better for maintaining as i'm having to re-learn my eating habits.

Like I said it's different strokes for different folks...thankfully I can handle feeling hungry all the time haha

Lani, are you on WS? I've just started and I would like to give myself one off day a week too but was scared it would effect weightloss. How have you been doing weightloss wise? Xx

Yep, I'm doing WS, I had huge health problems when I was on Cambridge diet on their total solution (hair fell out in clumps, had TOTM fair 3 months...not good). I lose about 3lbs a week, it's not enough for some but I am only 5ft 2in and only a bit overweight, so 3 lbs I think isn't too shabby. I am good all week, have about 800 calories a day, then a normalish day. If I am WS all week, my weigh in on Tuesday is normally between 1.5 and 2 lbs as my metabolism has taken a nose dive. It works for me,,,but to find what really works for you is trial and error, we are all very different. Hope you are well :-)
