    Smile My Exante TS Diary

    Day 1 - Saturday 2nd May 2009

I decided to re-start Exante TS because I have been struggling to lose weight over the last 2 weeks.

I don't know why but when I get to the 12st mark, it's like I have psychologically given up. It's like I'm satisfied now that I look fairly acceptable. But I don't want to settle for "fairly acceptable"! I want to look amazing!!!

So here I am. Hovering around 12st again. Feeling like I can't go any further. I actually succumbed to a couple of food binges because I felt like I was a lost cause. But all of that is behind me now. I am ready to deal with the weight issue once again.

The last time I tried Exante Total Solution, I was on 3 packs per day. I must admit I found this very difficult. I had stomach cramps and constantly wanted to eat food! I am now on 4 packs, drinking at least 2ltrs of water each day and I feel fine! It's made things much easier.

I have a load of Celebrity Slim choc fudge bars, so I am going to use these instead of the Exante bars so that I can finish them off.

So my menu on Day 1 looked like this:

Breakfast (9am): 1 x Celebrity Slim Choc Fudge bar
    Lunch (12pm): 1 x Exante Strawberry Shake
    Snack (3pm): 1 x Exante Chocolate Shake
Dinner (6pm): 1 x Exante Thai Chicken Soup
Snack: Fruit (some pieces of apple and orange)

I know I'm not supposed to have citrus fruit on TS, but it can't affect me that much right?! I am sticking to the plan the rest of the time, but I do like my fruit (which is why I can never do the Atkins diet strictly!)

So I got through Day 1 without any real feelings of hunger or wanting to eat. I am marking it as a "success"!!!

    Day 2 - Sunday 3rd May 2009

Today is Day 2. Still feeling optimistic! Yay!

So far I have had a CS bar and an Exante Vanilla shake. Planning to have a Banana Shake in about an hour and then another Thai Chicken soup tonight for dinner.

It's Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow so no work for me.
I want to go clothes shopping, but not sure whether I should. I don't want to go because (a) I should be studying and (b) I don't want to buy too many clothes in case they don't fit me very soon! He he he! I might just have a lie in instead!

I hope it is this easy every day! But I know it won't be...

I'm planning to stick to TS for 2 weeks and see how much weight I can lose. Hopefully I will be able to do it.

Hope everyone is doing well on their plans!
    Love from, Lisa

    Hi Lisa

Sounds like you will do good this week, I know its early days for me but I think that drinking lots of water does help I find coffee does too as it fills me up although I havnt had a coffee yet so that might explain my headache. Hope we can keep in touch and be of support to each other. I cant wait to go clothes shopping when I have lost my weight, dont shop for clothes at the moment as I wont look at myself in the mirror!

    Hi Becky,

I am hoping to have a great week this week! And I have a feeling that you will be joining me!

Your headache might be a sign that your body is going into ketosis (burning fat). You may also experience bad breath and your hands and feet may feel cold. These are also signs of the body entering ketosis. Your body is adjusting to a lower carb diet. Once your body enters into ketosis, you will not feel hungry anymore.

Of course we can keep in touch and support each other. That's what this forum is here for!

I can identify with not wanting to look at yourself in the mirror. I have that feeling as well. I am hoping the day will come when I can look in the mirror and love what I see! I am determined to love my reflection!

We will both get there! The days and weeks will go by in the blink of an eye and we will shrink as they pass by!

Just stick with it, Becky, and you will see the results you want!

What do you think of the Exante products you've tried so far? Which ones are your faves?

I pretty much like everything apart from the vegetable soup. I haven't actually tried it yet since I don't like peas!

If you ever feel down, we will always be here to support you. You can do it!

    Love from, Lisa

    Day 2 - Sunday 3rd May 2009

My food diary looked like this:

Breakfast (9am): 1 x Celebrity Slim Choc Fudge bar
    Lunch (12pm): 1 x Exante Vanilla Shake
    Snack (3pm): 1 x Exante Banana Shake
Dinner (6pm): 1 x Exante Thai Chicken Soup
Snack: Fruit (some pieces of apple and orange)
Snacks: 2 x Myoplex Carb Sense Bars

Ok, so I had a bit of a blip and ate 2 Myoplex Carb Sense bars. These only have 1.4g carbs per bar so hopefully I will be ok! I really shouldn't buy bars in bulk, should I?!! I'm not going to buy those Atkins bars in bulk anymore, that's for sure! I LOVE the Chocolate Decadence bars but I found out the hard way that too many of them will make you wanna "go"!!!

Gonna put the 2 extra bars behind me and try to do 100% tomorrow. I don't think it's the end of the world! I still considered myself to have been quite good to be honest. If I REALLY wanted to cheat, I could have done a lot worse than a couple of protein bars!

I've decided not to go shopping tomorrow. I'll just end up spending money on clothes (which may not fit me very soon! Ha ha!). So I am going to wait until I get to goal for the ultimate shopping experience!

It's now night time on Day 2. I'm not feeling hungry really (probably cos I had those 2 bars....he he).

I think I know what one of my major problems is. I like to eat when I am watching TV. I was watching this TV series and the ending was getting really exciting. That's when I thought "Ooh, wouldn't it be nice to have something to eat!" Of course, I don't keep any "junk food" in the house! The only thing I have are protein bars! So I ate 2 of them! Naughty, naughty....I know!

Maybe I should just stop watching TV?! I should get a life! He he he!

I'm also drinking "Great Impression" chinese tea. You're supposed to drink one cup each night before you go to sleep. I'm hoping it will help burn some fat!

I am also following "The Biggest Loser" UK at the moment. It's on at such a weird time - 4pm on ITV1 ! Yes, of course...4pm is prime-time?!! Anyway, I've been taping it cos, you know, some people need to work during this time! Us 9 to 5'ers - we're so sad! I can't believe they didn't tell us who was going to be evicted on Friday! Cheaters! They're gonna make us wait until Monday! I feel sorry for both teams who are up for eviction. Both teams contain either the heaviest boy or girl. And they are the people who need help the most. I really felt sorry for Lisa when her mum was talking about how she could potentially only have one year to live if she didn't lose weight. But again, Jamie is only 21 yrs old and he weighs 28 stone! His dad seemed fitter than him! So mean to make them go after just one week...

Anyways, I better sign off now. I feel like I can go on and on tonight! He he! No work tomorrow! Yay!!
    Love from, Lisa

Sounds like you are back on plan Lisa. Good luck.

A couple of things, the citrus acid in the oranges could prevent you or knock you out of ketosis. I would swap this for something else as if you aren't in ketosis, you will get hunger pangs.

Also all of these protein bars tend to have lots of fibre in them, so they might all do the same as the Atkins bars. That might be what gave you the cramps last time you did total with the atkins bars.

Hope today goes well. Having a shopping trip on target is a good plan. I am not buying any more clothes until I get to target as I have bought quite a bit and I am thinking some of it will end up too big. But hey, a girl needs nice clothes doesn't she!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning!

Hope you all had a good night? Day 2 went well, into day 3 and had a banana shake for breakfast. Really enjoyed that. Favorites so far have been the strawberry and banana shakes, nice and thick and creamy. Have enjoyed the thai chicken soup and the tomato not so keen on the bars as I thought I would be but they are fine nothing wrong with them!

I want to start watching the biggest loser but need to remember to record it as I too am a 9-5 er! What a silly time to put such a programme on. Hopefully it will inspire me!

Got weighed this morning which I will try not to do again until saturday but had a big shock to find that since saturday morning I have lost 6lbs as its TOTM so fingers crossed for a big loss on saturday!

Heres to us all having a good day.

    Day 3 - Monday 4th May 2009

Day 3 today. Feeling optimistic again. It's Bank Holiday Monday so I don't need to go to work which is good!

So far, I've had a CS bar and an Exante Strawberry shake. Planning to have a Chocolate Shake and a Tomato & Basil soup later on.

    Sarah
    - thanks for the advice on the oranges. I didn't realise the citric acid can knock you out of ketosis. So it's just oranges and other citrus fruits I can't have? I'm still planning to eat some fruit - will probably avoid the citrus fruit from now on.
I never thought the stomach cramps could have been caused by the Atkins bars! But I suppose with the quantity I was eating, anything is possible! The Myoplex Carb Sense bars don't have that much fibre in them and there is no warning that too much consumption will cause a laxative effect etc, so they might be ok. Although I'm not planning on over-doing it.
I didn't go shopping today. I'm gonna wait until I get to goal and then go clothes shopping!
Well done for losing another pound btw and for losing an amazing 4.5 stone so far!!! You're a real inspiration!

Becky - I'm not using the Exante bars cos the carb content in them seems high. I have some Celebrity Slim bars left from my time on the CS diet so I am using them instead. I've also bought some Myoplex Carb Sense bars which are quite nice and filling, so will be using them as one of my packs as well.
Watching shows like "The Biggest Loser" definitely motivates me. Watching them go through all that pain to lose weight really motivates me! And when they tell their reasons why they want to lose weight reminds me of why I am doing it. You're a 9 to 5-er as well? What job do you do, if you don't mind me asking? It is on at a silly time! They should have put it on in the evening when most people are at home!
Don't fall into the trap of weighing yourself more than once a week, Becky! It can never be a good thing. You lost 6 lbs when you weighed yourself mid-week. What if you "only" lost 4 lbs in your official weigh in? That might dent your motivation! I only ever weigh myself once a week. I'm sure you will have a good loss this week! Don't weigh yourself until Saturday!!!

I'm planning to have a good day today!

I know I shouldnt have got weighed but I was curious! Wont do it again.

I work in an office, bit rubbish at min as been lots of changes lately. I used to do accounts but to make myself more indespensable made the move into transport which is what we do but we are on 4 day week at the moment with a 20% pay reduction which means we are struggling financially at the moment but I just couldnt wait to lose the weight. I eat when im down and with work the way it is I have been very down but once the weight starts going then that will be a positive! What do you do?

I didnt realise that about the bars? I got the special offer packs as I would struggle to buy everything seperately. What difference will they make for me going into keytosis (or however you spell it)!

Thanks for all the help and advice every little bit helps!

    Hi Becky,

I work in an office as well. I'm an accountant. Exciting, I know! Ha ha! Sorry to hear that there have been changes in your workplace, but I guess that is happening in a lot of places nowadays. Hopefully things will improve soon.

I think the shakes and soups have at most about 12g carbs per pack, but the bars have about 24g of carbs. I prefer to have bars which are lower in carbs. I don't think it will affect ketosis if you only have one Exante bar per day (maximum).

The promo pack at £36 is a very good deal. Although I have started buying the products I like now that I know which packs I prefer.

Don't worry, you can still eat the bars. Just don't have more than one per day.

Hope Day 3 is going well for you! The mushroom soup is one of my faves - hope you enjoy it!

Please don't worry about the carb levels in the bars. The plan is designed to give you all you need in a day when using three packs on total. The carb levels won't knock you out of ketosis and you need a certain amount of carbs on a VLCD to give you energy. Just don't have more than one bar in a day as the levels of fibre might give you the runs.

Good to clear that up about the bars thanks. I thought they would be my favourites as im a really sweet person but I prefer the shakes. Im having a shake for breakfast, bar for lunch and soup for dinner so hopefully this will work!

Nearly wavered tonight as my fiance wants an Indian takeaway but I have resisted and am going to have my mushroom soup, not sure what he is going to have but I cant give up on my first week. Im not hungry just the thought of actual food is sooooooooooooo tempting.

It doesnt help that I sit down for my job as I carry all my weight round my thighs its as if you can see my seat on my rear end! Not a good look it has to go!

Hope you are having a good day?

Thanks for the info on the bars, Sarah. I think the main reason why I don't get them is because....shhhhh.....I tend to eat more than one if they are lying there in my room! They are lovely and I love biting into the crispies and the raisins etc! So I've decided not to get them anymore - too much temptation!

As you know, Becky, I am also a 9 to 5-er and I sit on my a$$ all day! I'm not a big fan of my hips and thighs either!

You're right! You can't give up in the first week! And you won't! Just keep thinking of the weight you will lose on Saturday. That sweet sweet moment when you see those scales going down!

I love the mushroom soup! It's one of my faves! I had to re-order some because I ran out. So I had to drink the tomato soup cos it was the only soup I had left. Actually the tomato soup isn't all that bad. I thought it was ok when I had it before.

I know what you mean about not feeling hungry yet you still think about food. I did that when I was on 3 packs last time. I lasted about 10 days but really wavered in the last few days. I don't feel so bad this time around.

We'll get through this week! I promise I won't cheat if you won't! He he he!

    Day 3 - Monday 4th May 2009

    Menu for Day 3:

Breakfast (9am): 1 x Celebrity Slim Choc Fudge bar
    Lunch (12pm): 1 x Exante Strawberry Shake
    Snack (3pm): 1 x Exante Chocolate Shake
    Dinner (6pm): 1 x Exante Tomato Soup
Snack: Fruit (some pieces of apple)

I took Sarah's advice and cut out the citrus fruit!

Today was a good day. It was Bank Holiday Monday which meant I had free time to think naughty thoughts! But I didn't!

I wasn't all that keen on the Tomato soup the last time I had it, but it tasted ok tonight. I still prefer Mushroom or Thai Chicken though. They are yummy!

Work is gonna be very busy this week. Hopefully I won't have time to think about food!

Hoping for great success this week!

Hi really struggling tonight, as you say too much time to think about naughty things. This is the first time I have been hungry but then I dont think it is hunger I think its because ive been thinking of food all day. Dont know if you have noticed but nearly every advert on tv is for food and its killing me! So determind to do it though. Going to set myself a goal for when I hit a stone mark but I dont know what yet!

I have dug a pair of jeans out that I havnt fit in for a while so I can keep trying them to see how im doing. One goal is to fit in them before summer hits but they are size 16 so im not sure if I can manage that. Cant remember what weight I was when I last wore them!

Im not back at work until thursday and I will be on my own for the best part of the next two days and I know I will struggle as this is one of my times when I would eat for the sake of it!

Fingers crossed for the next two days, hope I hit ketosis so I dont feel hungry but I think it goes deeper than feelng hungry.

Hope we all have a good tomorrow.

    Love Becky x
