I cut rite back at started drinking just water and eating just porridge in the morning and my meal at 8pm that's all I am eating at the moment. I am now down to 21stone 7lb. And have joined a gym. I am going to the gym 5 times a week just doing cardio. At the beginning of the week I was 21stone 7. But this week we have had 3 party's a 60th 21st and a 50th all witch we have eaten out. So basically Iv kinda had 3 takeaways this week.my weight has now gone up to 21 stone 11. It's almost like going to the gym is making me put weight on.please can anybody advice ??? I'm finding it hard to get motivated but I need to do something and soon. <br />

So here I am, I'm a 49 year old mum of 5 children. I gained 10kg in the last 30 weeks since quitting smoking, I was already over weight before quitting, now I need to loose around 20kg :o<br />

I am trying Slimming World for the first time. I am currently in my first week. Finding it fun but also still some confusion. I still struggle with how I can eat all this and lose weight but SW is highly recommended. I must admit I have rarely been hungry this week, even when i have been bored. <br />
<br />
A bit about me<br />
I am a soon to be 27 year old. I have a soon to be 10 year old. As of tomorrow I will finish my degree. Being a student and having an office job are two things that have contributed to my weight gain. I am about 12st 7lb. Ideally would like to be 10st 7. I have hypothyroidism and had a full thyroidectomoy in 2007. I have tried a few diets, ww, celebrity slim, calorie counting, G.I and clean eating. I either didn't feel full and didn't really lose. I am really confident at the moment. I have a deadline of at least October (graduation).<br />

What a wonderful forum!  I've found so many interesting comments, ideas and recipes, I thought I should join.<br />
<br />
Went to Slimming World (Birkdale, Southport), reached target (12st 3lb) and stopped going.  What a mistake!  Without the support of the group and our wonderful leader Pam Crossen I put a stone back on even though my wife Alison was still attending and I was (I thought) following the plan.<br />
<br />
Now I attend every week and the weight comes off.  On holidays we don't do the plan much and weight goes on, but we know that when we return it will come off again.<br />
<br />
Favourite things to make are soups, especially Leek &amp; Potato from the SW 100 Green Recipes book.  <br />
<br />
Looking forward to joining in the discussions!<br />

think my title says it all....! but looking forward to trying again, love what I've seen on this site, all the friendly help and advice.  Seem to have been dieting all my life (on and off) I'm currently weighing in at 11st 6lb (can't get my head round kg) which is far to much for my height of 5ft 3in, and trying to follow WW simply filling.  I'm a gold member of WW, but not going to meetings as I feel the focus is too much on pro points and WW products, and I seem to get obsessed with all the counting.<br />

I've been surviving on Special K for breakfast, a variety of salads for lunch and lean meats/fish and lots of veggies for dinner. Overall I've lost about 8lbs which is good considering it has taken me from a size 10 to a size 8. I want to maintain this weight however and maybe loose a little more. So far everything about my diet is manageable and I have so much more energy but I need help when it comes to snacking. I want to swap that chocolate biscuit out for something healthier that satisfies my sweet tooth. Anyone have any ideas they've tried that work? Also I'm aware that Special K doesn't seem as good for you as it first appears so some yummy breakfast tips would be great too. Please bear in mind I'm not eating any bread and I don't like eggs (I'm fussy haha) TIA x<!-- google_ad_section_end --></div>

I thought I would introduce myself as I am very new to the CWP and I don't really know anyone to have ever done the diet so I am sure there will be lots more advice on here than I will get anywhere else.<br />
<br />
So a quick introduction about me...<br />
<br />
I'm 24 years old, 5ft nothing and 11st7lb. I have never been comfortable with my weight but since having my beautiful daughter 2 and a half years ago I am now much less happy with the excess flab going on! I have dabbled with WW a few times and as much as I love the plan I have never stuck to it long enough to see the real results, I guess I am impatient! So basically I see CWP as the more 'drastic' option for me, I have a really unhealthy relationship with food, by that I mean I LOVE IT! And I mean that, I just love eating, and I will eat until I am full enough to feel the stomach stretch. It's pretty gross really but I now know that and I am really ready to do something drastic about it.<br />
<br />
So I started yesterday and boy was it a toughie! I was so hungry between shakes that I felt sick, I had the headache from hell and generally felt like crap! Fortunately my consultant had prepared me for the headaches and I was prepared for the hunger pains anyway so I saw it as the plan working rather than I want to give in and eat a burger now (mmmm burger). I am doing well on the water intake, thankfully I love green tea and peppermint tea and I have pretty much had a full mug for the past two days, I also have a 2L bottle sat on the desk which I have now finished (just about to top up) and it makes the water intake really easy, seeing how much I have consumed, literally right in front of me is a really good thing.<br />
<br />
I am on step 1 SS'ing entirely, day two is already feeling easier but I am still thinking about eating!<br />
<br />
So now I go on to my concerns/advice that I am seeking:<br />

<ul><li style="">Do the headaches subside and if so how quickly (yesterday was really bad, particularly in the evening, I am dreading it being like it again tonight)</li><li style="">Do you ever really stop craving food?</li><li style="">How easy is it to go in to maintenance and keep the weight off? The reason I ask this is because a lot of the posts I read are people returning and there isn't much talk about what happens when you have lost the weight</li><li style="">Any advice on when I can expect days where it may be particularly hard</li><li style="">Can you ever have drink sugar free drinks? Squash/sugar free fizzy drinks?</li><li style="">Can I suck on a mint?</li></ul><br />

I am desperate for this to work but I am really concerned that I am going to undo all of the hard work when I go back to normal eating (obviously my intentions are not to go back to my old eating habits!) but I fully intend to eat food again one day!<br />
<br />

I'm having one of those ''right - that's it! I'm going to start eating healthy and exercising more starting today'' days. </b>:sigh:<br />
<b><br />
I go through stages of eating and exercising as I should and then give up because I lose motivation. I don't go on specific diets, I just eat less and exercise more. <br />
<br />
I'm overweight, according to my BMI which is a disgusting 28.1<br />
<br />
I jog now and again, I walk every once in a while and I include fish, veg, fruit in my diet.<br />
But my exercise isn't consistent and I have days where I eat WAY too much.<br />
<br />
I was once able to lose 1 stone in weight when I put my mind to it. I didn't eat biscuits, chocolate or anything for 2 months! TWO MONTHS! But then xmas arrived.... say no more.<br />
<br />
I'm looking forward to getting to know people on here and finding out some tips and tricks to losing weight and keeping it off.... :)</b><!-- google_ad_section_end --></div>

Day one for me today and I'm ready and rearing to get going! In 33 male 5'8 and weighing in at 16 stone even. <br />

Would love to get down to 12...but am realistic about it too.  I don't do any exercise but have invested in a treadmill for the house and am cutting out all the junk from today.<br />
<br />
Have tries weight watchers and sliming world and can't seem to stick to any diet. So have decide to go back to basics. My weigh in day is going to be Mondays so have decided that on that day I will not &quot;diet&quot; and will eat whatever I fancy or crave. Then for the rest if the week, that is Tuesday to Sunday it's strict business! <br />
<br />
For those days I'm looking at having below or something similar each day:<br />
<br />
Breakfast :   Weetabix or porridge with banana<br />
<br />
Lunch:    Big bowl of fruit salad with low fat yogurt<br />
<br />
Afternoon:   Tortilla wrap, chicken, lettuce, sweet corn, spring onions (wrap can vary obviously)<br />
<br />
Tea:  bowl of cornflakes or something light before bed<br />
<br />
What do you think?? Don't hold back :-)<br />

Just introducing myself. I'm Harvey, I've just joined. <br />
I'm a member on the Lighter Life programme. In 2009 I lost 4 stones with the programme, but put it back on after over a year. <br />
I've just restarted the programme and am in my third week. Lost 11.22lbs already. It's so difficult the second time around especially last weigh-in I only lost .22 which was so disheartening when I stuck to the programme religiously.<br />
I wanted to give up, but my goals and dreams are far more rewarding so I'm continuing, I won't say it's easy though...<!-- google_ad_section_end --></div>

Thought I would try Slimming World again.  Did do this in 2009, lost over a stone, started a new job, and then seemed like too much hard work. <br />
<br />
Weight crept back on, divorced, lost a bit of weight, met someone else, weight crept back on, split up last year, lost about a stone, got back together after 5 months, 9 months later, put on about 2 stone :sigh: . <br />
<br />
I am about 5ft 1 and now weigh 12.6 stones :cry:<br />
<br />
May need some help remembering what to do.  Joined online last night, as I only can go to meetings every other week, so think I need the support of a group of people also doing this. <br />
<br />
Today having a red day -<br />
<br />
Breakfast - 2 slices of nimble toast, scraping of flora light, scrambled egg with turkey slices and made with small amount of skimmed milk<br />
<br />
Lunch - not sure but may get a salad from subway (WHAT DRESSING SHOULD I HAVE, or do I avoid theirs)<br />
<br />
Dinner - Gammon steak, salad and jacket potato. <br />
<br />
Oh, got 2 girls, who don't actually eat with me, as they eat with the childminders, 1 week I eat with OH, the next I don't as he works shifts.  How easy is it to cook a meal for you on SW and your partner not on SW. <br />
