Just wanted to ask a few questions if you don't mind? <br />
I'm an old hand a slimming world, have done slim fast recently and I'm still nowhere nearer to losing weight. My own fault though;)<br />
Seen all the publicity surrounding this eating plan and also three of my sisters colleagues are all doing it so thought I would give it a go....<br />
<br />
Can I ask what sort of meals you would eat on fast days please? I know it's roughly around 500 cals and Dr Moseley says to stay away from carbs and dairy on fast days so don't know what I would have. <br />
My fast days are most likely to be Mondays and Wednesdays as being at work I find it easy to go without food as I'm so busy anyway.<br />
<br />
Any tips or advice would be gratefully received. And, I'm not expecting a massive loss really quickly but then I'm not getting anywhere anyway with all the other &quot;diets&quot; I've been on so nothing ventured nothing gained, right? Lol :) xxx<!-- google_ad_section_end --></div>

I lost over 5 and a half stone a couple of years back through calorie counting. I had another baby and put all but 1 back on. My heaviest was 15.2 and my Lowest was 9.5. Last winter I pulled myself back together after many dramas finished my maternity leave and went back to work full time. I weighed in at 14.11, almost at my heaviest ever. Since then I've lost bits and pieces here and there and put them back on. <br />
<br />
I've wanted to do 5:2 for ages but if i'm being totally honest I thought it would be a lot of hassle, see, my issue is time, I need something easy, that doesn't involve extra shopping/money/a lot of thought. I get put off easily if there are too many rules ect. need something really easy. I am willing to put in the hard work though. So tell me, is this diet for me? Infact I also want a life change as I truly believe you can do this for a long time, or for extended periods. <br />
<br />
So, before I make my decision....would anyone mind answering some questions <br />
<br />
- Does it really matter how many cals I have on down and up days, for example I want something simple like 1200 on up days and 500 on down days, I am used to eating 1200 cals so that's like my average (ive managed to lose 7lbs in the last 4 weeks healthy eating and eating approx. 1200 but not calculating cals) <br />
<br />
- I thought I read somewhere that.....on down days you can only eat twice a day? Why is that, and would there be a big impact if the cals were spread instead?<br />

I'm only 4&quot;11 so I found that I ate too much on SW &amp; the shakes and CC seemed like a never ending cycle. That's when I bought the 5:2 book :)!<br />
I'm so psyched to start!<br />
I've done my bmr/ bmi charts &amp; found that 470 on the fasting days would work beat for me because I'm so short.<br />
I'm starting first thing in the morning! <br />

I had some really tasty food today for under 500cals so thought I would share.<br />
<br />
I has nothing until a late lunch when I had some cauliflower rice flavoured with paprika and a mushroom stroganoff made with mushrooms, garlic paprika and a small portion of extra light cream cheese. That made a decent serving for around 100cals!<br />
<br />
Then for tea I just had stir fry (1/2 veg pack from tesco 70cal) with 1/2 pack blue dragon Szechuan sauce (59cal) and Asda udon noodles. 1/3 a pack of the noodles is just 93 calls so all that is about 250 (as I added some broccoli). The noodles are yummy and filling. My OH has exactly the same as me but with an added Pitt? He isn't following fast and is still full after his meal.<br />

I have enough for some fruit for dessert too!<br />

I recently tried SW and stayed the same weight for three months as I can't get portion control. Now fed up with paying out £5 a week and buying tons of food I have decided to try the 5:2 plan. <br />
<br />
I know I can drop down to 500 cals as I have done the Cambridge Diet before and lost 3.5 stone in 12 weeks, but it's not sustainable and I like quite a lot of activity. I run 5k 4-5 times a week and cycle 4 times a week to work and back, so a constant diet of 500 cals is just not healthy with all that exercise. <br />
<br />
To day is going to be my fast day and again on Friday. I am away camping the beginning of next week so it is likely to be Tuesday and Friday then as well. However, I hope to eventually fast on Mondays and Fridays. <br />
<br />
If anyone had any advice it will much appreciated.  <br />

so here i go again...im hoping to begin the 5:2 diet tomorrow but would really like a few ideas on what a good menu of 500 cals are,the ideas in the book dont really do alot for me so was hoping some inspiration from the world may do??<br />

i have gained 12lbs since xmas having lost nearly 2st a year n half ago and dont seem to be able to get myself back into it..heres where you guys come in??<br />

<div><!-- google_ad_section_start -->I've had a rocky start to my 5;2 campaign but I'm finally getting somewhere. My problem has been that i've been overeating on my feed days, badly overeating. So much so that in two months on the diet I gained 8lbs! I realise I can't eat what is a 'normal' portion for me as eating that is what got me to obese in the first place. So instead i worked out my TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) online and have been calorie counting so that I meet that on feed days. As a result I've lost 6.5lbs in the two weeks I've been doing it - hurrah! Obviously it's not ideal to be calorie counting but once I get used to these portion sizes i can start to relax a bit. <div><!-- google_ad_section_start -->Hi everyone. I bought this book yesterday after doing weight watchers. I enjoyed weight watchers but always came unstuck at weekends / work events. So.hoping 2 fast days and relatively health rest of the time will fit in better. Anyway few questions if anyone can help?<br />

I started today and slipped up slightly and had 162 calories for breakfast ( forgot to count a fizzy vitamin tablet drink i have out of habit) does this matter or for i simply knock it off daily allowance?<br />
<br />
Does it have to.be 12 hours between meals, just having breakfast now 8:15 as worked out this morning and OH and I generally have tea about half 7<br />
<br />
Also what can you.drink during the day?<br />
