Is there a section of MiniMins where I can find a gym buddy?

If not I wonder if I can find one here!
I'm in the SE8 area of London and wondering if anybody close by fancies going to the gym together or possibly doing some sporting activities together? Even better now that the sun is out!

    Hi AGA,

I wish you lived closer (or I did) -- I'd love to have a gym buddy. I lost my weight (and have gained a bit back -- hence the need to get back to working out on a regular basis) with a Lighter Life Buddy (almost 5 stone in 2008).

I kept it off as long as I was working out -- but gym buddies come and go (one got pregnant, so she is excused lol) and I quit working out (wweather was a factor) and started to regain the weight. I have stopped the gain, but have made very little progress on taking off the nearly 2 stone, I want to lose.

The "gym buddy" I have now is hit or miss, and likes to go later in the day and I prefer a early morning "jump start". She seems to cancel a lot for -- "I was up too late", "I don't feel well", "I have errands", etc. I want to point out to her that if she does make her weight loss and fitness a priorty -- it won't happen, but that will just annoy her.

However, why don't you start going to the gym -- at the time you like, and do what you like... classes, equipment, etc.

Year ago (when I lived in New York) I made ended up with a gym buddy and a good friend by being on treadmill three times a week at the same time. My friend was on the treadmill around the same time EVERY day -- she came right after work --and we just started talking one day (I think she may have helped me adjust the incline on my treadmill). We ended up arranging to meet up at the gym, and then started doing other things (i.e. rollerblading in the park, bike rides, etc.). Her husband was not very active, and mine worked afternoon/evening shifts. It was a good support activity and friendship.

I think I should just "factor out" my "current" gym buddy... and start going when I like going and doing what I like doing... and maybe I'll meet someone who likes what I like and does what I do -- when I like to do it! If when she wants to go -- it works for me, fine... but I had planned to a do a fitness class this morning with her, and she texted last night to say that she wanted to go and use the machines later in the day. So, I adjusted my plans to fit hers (again).

    Good Luck.
