Question cycling in the rain/bad weather??

Hello

My bike is getting fixed, but when I have it back I want to go cycling.

I want to continue cycling into the Autumn and ideally beyond. I am getting some lights so I can go out in the dark.
Although I mainly ride in the park I have to cycle through a housing estate.
It is a mountain bike but I am a bit nervous of cycling in the rain/bad weather.
I am sure I used to ride my bike when it was raining etc when I was a child but that was a long time ago. So i'm nervous and looking for any tips from other cyclists. Thanks
