What do you eat before the gym?

Basically I've been feeling a little bit drained at the gym and haven't been doing aswell as usual.

I was wondering if there is anything I could eat before I went to the gym that would give me that extra boost, besides a mars bar coz that would defeat the point.

    Thanks

I'd agree with a protein shake, although i usually have one immediately after working out. What about a banana about half an hour beforehand?

Hi just in reply you can get diet whey shakes and shakes called sculptress designed for women from holland and barrett. Hope that helps! I tend to go in the morning to the gym and have a bowl of porridge at least an hour before and have a protein high snack when I get back like nuts, yoghurt or couple of slices of sliced meat!

Have you possibly over trained at some stage? Might be worth short break give your bod a bit of a rest

Bananas are a great pre exercise food (feed nerves which are used in exercise) yoghurt (for magnesium - metabaliser for protein.carbs). Just make sure you dont go hungry.

My step son takes a supplement called Jack3d which he swears by

I tend to just eat some fruit but what about having a bottle of lucozade light whilst your exercising instead of a bottle of water?

Haha over train not likely, I go after work and think it probably is coz I'm a little but hungry at that time.

Might do like Gina said and have half a protein bar, my fella gets protein flapjacks n I could steel them.

Jack3d just sounds a bit too scary for me :S lol.
