Poledancing... how good is it for fitness?

Hey all,

I have a treadmill at home and plan to work my way through C25K (only reached Week 4 last time!) but I heard that poledancing was a great form of exercise... my local gym does weekly classes for £12.50 or four weeks for £40 or six weeks for £60.... which for me is very very steep! So wouldn't want to commit unless it was worth it. I'm not very big, 10st 2lbs and want to lose about a stone max so it's more for toning up my niggly areas (stomach and thighs!) BUT i have no upper body strength really so dunno if you learn with practice or if that makes it a no-go lol!

Any recommendations from someone who has done it/doing it would be great as I don't want to waste the money. Especially if 30 day shred (which is currently in my DVD player) will do just the same! Thanks
xx

Pole dancing... IF you're already fairly strong and enjoy gymnastics (yes, the type that needs leotards), then go for it.

There is actually a lot of grip strength involved as well as overall co-ordination of all limbs.

I'd suggest ask for a free trial, or watch a class before you committ.

That kind of money amost equal 2 personal training sessions!!
