I have started jogging every day. For weight loss toning and fitness. I am really getting into it and enjoying it.
I am after tips on keeping going in snow and ice?
I have heard its on the way and i really dont want to have to stop. Im worried about slipping in ice.

Is there anything you do to help keep it up? Or any good products / grips etc. Any help would be appreciated :)

going to lurk around on this thread....

I avoided all winter races last year but not this year. already started to get slippy near me and I just slowed down my pace, helped a little bit. also avoided all patches that look wet.

all I can say is, use the treadmill. the dreaded treadmill... yes its boring but its better than an injury.
im dreading doing the long runs on it (16 - 20 miles!) :(

ive ordered some yaktrax pro for my trainers, they are supposed to be good and stop you slipping on ice so im giving them a go :)

realistically I cant run on a dreadmill. I don't own one either but instead have to use the gym

:):) :)

Ive seen them! Do you have just normal running trainers? Im thinking of getting some ' trail' trainers and putting slips on top. Im so paranoid about slilping and breaking a leg! Haha thanks for your reply :)

yeah I have two types, more padded type for shorter distance and less padding for longer distance.

if I wear the wrong ones I can tell straight away!

think they do just clip on, I haven't used them before but they should arrive tomorrow or Saturday!

I cant afford to slip or get injured, with 2 marathons in December and two halves in the beginning of 2014 im screwed if I cant run them.
cant get refunds on either races or hotels ive booked

O wow marathons! Id love to but never get enough time to run more than 3-4 miles a day!maybe in the future.

You have two pairs of trainers? I wasnt sure how important it was until i started researching this week.

I will try find the link for the trainers i liked...

2 pairs of runners, 1 for the gym and 1 for work. so 4 in total :p

im lucky to have a lot of freetime, I work perfect hours to fit in training runs and don't work the weekends so its good hours for me. most ill do after work is 6/7 miles, the weekends are my biggest runs

Wow! Thats so good. Ive been looking at the yaktrax and they have great reviews so i will get some!

Can i ask what size you ordered and your trainer size?

Im size 5 so assume a small would be fine!

i got a small, says they are a 5-7 so should just fit. my trainers are a 7 :)

My new trainers have arrived!
