Hi all,

Newbie here! Finally at the end of my tether with my long term weight issue and looking for the best exercise option?

I have about 5-6 stone to lose, had envisaged this in January for 40th in December but with constant setbacks re health I am now able to commence with exercise.

What have you all found to be the most beneficial programme to follow?
I have exercise dvd's, Jillian Michaels, Bob Harper,Leslie Sansome not to mention Wii fitness as well as Zumba workouts. I have been contemplating joining local gym and wondering if that would be my best option in relation to my other products?? Just confused and probably overwhelmed by task ahead and way forward.

I'll look to follow ww or sw plans(tried numerous times!!!)

Like said before, had enough of this on going issue and determined more than ever to lose weight before end of year, if manage to lose amount I would like.

Your help and assistance with option would be most appreciated:) x

If you have ongoing, or have had health issues, I would speak to your GP about an exercise program :) x

Hiya, thanks :) I've been going to the gym 3 times a week for a few months now, but was eating loads and loads of rubbish, convincing myself it was fine as I wasn't gaining.... lol. I actually like the gym, and my aim is to RUN a 5k park run before the end of the year.

I tend to do a 15 min fast walk on the treadmill to warm up, then some work on the matt, then weights and finish with a 30-40 min blast on the treadmill again, up hill etc.

:)

The simplest option is honestly whichever you can stick at! Personally, I don't feel it necessary to join a gym as I get enough at home and out and about (my house does look slightly like a gym now though!) and for me being at a gym is a nightmare which makes me less likely to stay and actually work out! Try them all, see which you enjoy - I love Jillian M, she works for me, a mix of cross trainer, Jillian and some other bits (weight, squats, ab crunches etc) keeps me fit and active and helps you tone and lose weight, but it might be impossible for someone else! You're more likely to stick at it if you find it a bit fun.

Start small, work your way up, find what works for you.
