Should I follow an exercise regime if I am following a certain diet to become slim?

Hi,

Though I have lost some weight, my belly fat isn't gong. I have started crunching these days, but have stopped dieting. Should I combine the two in order to reduce that fat around belly? I am afraid I might feel week if I diet and exercise?

I'd say try and do both, what kind of diet are you on?
I've not noticed any weakness in my weight lifting since starting my SW diet last month, I just try to schedule my meals so I eat 1-2 hours before the gym.

Yes, you can do

It is always best to add exercise regime to your diet but you have to be careful which diet you are following as some are too restricting and would give you too little energy to be able to exercise. Even if your diet is very restrictive, you can still do some exercises that do not involve so much energy. Check your diet first. See you at the top.

I'd definitely recommend doing exercise - preferably resistance (ie weight) training. If you rely on just diet alone you will of course lose weight, but you'll just end up a smaller version of what you were before. With a good weight program however you'll really be able to change your body shape as well which will make you look infinitely better, not to mention the positive effect that it'd have on burning fat away... a good weights session elevates your metabolism for 24 - 48 hours after which can obviously help massively.

I'd steer clear of crunches as well as you can't spot burn fat of certain parts of your body... you'd be better spending the time doing a few complex exercises such as squats which work the abs and multiple other muscle groups!
