My Ripped in 30 challenge

Hi all,

I've challenged myself to complete 30 days of working out. No excuses, just continuous hard effort. I'm doing Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 workout, and it's intense. I started yesterday, so 29 days to go. I'm loving it though, makes me feel so good afterwards, if somewhat exhausted, but in a good way! Love that post workout feeling.

If anyone else has the dvd then feel free to join me :) I will be ripped in 30, well, as close to ripped as I can be lol.

Good luck Sarah, I'm working through 30 day shred at the minute. ..Although only on non gym days so it will take more than a month for me to complete it!

Good luck with your challenge x

I have a few Jillian DVDs but not that one! I run & do kettlebells mainly but throw in the odd DVD to mix things up. Might have to get the Jillian ones out as they are tough yet fun!

I get most of mine from you tube, it's great as you can really mix it up on there.

I'm aiming to do 30 days this time!

The only dvd's I have are insanity (which I've never managed to complete) and hip hop abs (which I've done twice! )

I much prefer going to the gym and always do loads when I go there but find it hard to get the time as have to work around my job and my daughter!

The only problem I have with 30 day shred is that I find the woman irritating! That's no excuse to quit though!

I'm planning on getting this in first thing in the morning going forward as if I get to the gym it's generally in the evening so I could possibly pull in two work outs on some days :O

I really want to do insanity, but just can't afford the £105 price tag right now! Have asked a few friends if I can borrow theirs, but they're still working out to it!

I love Jillian Michaels, well it's a love/hate relationship lol. I often swear at her through the workout, but at the end I feel so good I love her again!

have a look on you tube for the videos and just ask a friend for a photocopy of the work out schedule.

mine is a download so on my laptop. ... If any of your friends have downloaded it could they put it onto a memory stick for you?

They just have the dvds unfortunately; will have a look at youtube again, did that a couple days ago and just found introductory videos, not the whole workout.

Try searching shaun t insanity full workout... a couple of them came up. I'll see if I can post the links later x

Day 4 of the challenge completed!

Feeling really good, it really sets me up for the day if I do my workout in the morning :) loving it!

Day 5 completed!

I've worked out that it's not actually 30 days of working out, but actually only 24! Jillian suggests you work out 5 to 6 days out of 7 and have 1 rest day, so that over the 4 weeks only works out at 24 days. Or 28 if you don't have a rest day! Ah well, am still cracking on with it, and am intending to do insanity afterwards! I will be in the best shape I can be, I'm determined!!

How do you find the dvd? I found the 30 day shred boring.
Does it take a long time and do you need any special equipment? Thanks

I have pulled a muscle in my leg doing 30 day shred :'( I think that it's because the warm up is not very long to fit the workout into 20 minutes and then I've gone deep into a lunge and strained it :-(

I love it. In comparison the 30DS is rather dull, but then I did it far too many times! Ripped in 30 only takes 30 minutes, and all you need is a set of handweights, like for the 30DS.

Ouchies! Just go careful with it, you don't want to put too much strain on it and exacerbate the problem!

Day 6 done!

Tomorrow is a rest day, where I plan to just do some yoga. I have a friend who's a personal trainer, and he recommended it as a gentle way of exercising, and allowing my muscles to heal from the high intensity of the Ri30 workout.

Saturday will be the start of week 2 of Ri30. I have no idea what to expect as I never made it that far last time! Only did a couple of days of week 1 and gave up lol. This time I'm determined to see it through to the end. No matter how grisly it gets!
