This is happening to me as well, so i'll be happy to find out why.
When you tick that box what you do is you modify the expiration date of that cookie.
When you dont tick it, the expiration is set to 20 minutes.
When you do tick it, the expiration is set to 30~days.
Now, why its not keeping you logged in you have to look at what can affect cookies.
Security software (anti spyware, firewalls, anti virus) made by people (norton, zone alarm, kaspersky etc) can have features that kill cookies that it deems have an excessive expiry date and deletes the cookie during its regular cleanup.
The other things that may affect your cookie is something called "Browser helper objects" and its a very difficult one to pin down.
2 checks to do:
Log into minimins, click "remember me".
close the internet browser (close all the windows and tabs).
Then open it up again and go to minimins, are you still logged in?
The other is to try a different browser:
Apple Safari: Apple - Safari - Browse the web in smarter, more powerful ways.
Firefox: Mozilla Firefox Web Browser
Chrome: Chrome
Opera: Opera browser | Faster & safer internet | Free download
Maxthon: Maxthon Cloud Browser | For All Devices | Free Download
See if these browsers do the same thing. (log in, close the browser, restart the browser and go to minimins).

This has been happening to me too suddenly over the last couple of days despite not having changed anything about my browser. Veerry mysterious!
I cant figure it out!!!!

I've tried what you suggested, I've tried using google chrome, but it still doesn't keep me logged in. I've not got this problem with other websites I go on.
Do any of you use ad blocker?
Yep, but this problem has only just started happening & I've not made any changes re ad blocker etc.
Ive not made any changes either....
Ill make up a test page to return the cookie information.

I've got exactly the same problem. It seems to be a Safari issue cos it didn't happen when I opened MiniMins in Firefox.
Glad it's not just me having this problem
same is happening to me , other sites I have saved log ins for aint mis-behaving just minimins:-(
