Slimming World or Weight Watchers?

Out of the two, which would you go for?
I've done Slimming World before and lost a few pounds but I quit after a few weeks as my head wasn't in the game :( so whilst I know the jist of Slimming World, I know nothing about the Weight Watchers plan! Any help would be appreciated.

I've never been on weight watchers but I know it's based on a point system. There are loads of weight watchers ready meals available which I suppose saves a ton of time compared to slimming world where you have to cook everything from fresh but living on ready meals can be a bad habit to have. I'm on slimming world and often use the weight watcher sauces and bread because it's low in syns and fat. Hope this helped a little bit!

I've done both (several times) and have lost a decent amount of weight on both.

Personally though I prefer Slimming World, which it what I'm following at the moment. I find having to count points (or calories come to that) makes me obsess about food and crave it all the more, whereas although SW has an element of counting, it's not every morsel that passes your lips.

I also found WW more open to abuse - or at least the system back then. I guess most people, including me, would try to follow the plan with a bit of common sense, but the friend I originally joined with would survive all day during the week on just a bowl of cornflakes so she could use all her points on a blowout at the Harvester and an almighty piss up all weekend. I would get emails saying she was sitting at her desk shaking and I'd say well bloody eat something but her weekend binge drinking benders were more important apparently and she was learning nothing.

Although I understand that recently WW has become more similar to SW so that "loophole" may or may not still exist.

I'm not a WW fan, but that was more to do with the group and that fact they loaded me with points that I apparently 'should' eat, but they were so much that I couldn't do it and then would get moaned at for 'not eating enough'. I'd already told them I wasn't a big eater!

But having said that it's all changed to the new way since I went.

I didn't enjoy SW either but then I think I'm one of the few where groups don't work for me - which is a shame as the group weighin stuff would be a good incentive for me to keep on track.

I've also done both, and for me personally I am really liking WW maybe it's the convenience of it, but I like to keep an eye on portion sizes. Good luck with whatever you choose to follow x

I was a member of SW on and off since 2007 but in recent months got bored with it and needed something new. I never liked the WW points plan but recently hearing about the new filling and healthy plan really got me interested. I took the plunge after abit of research and joined for £10 for a month. I've just finished week 3 (6lbs down) with just under a stone left to goal so I'm over the moon. I've found it much easier than SW as I only have to think about the free foods and then what I want to use my weekly points on. With SW I lost track too easily thinking about free, superfree, healthy extra a, healthy extra b, syns, tweaks and rubbish you can do this but you can do that etc lol. I must admit I was nervous about changing over as it was fear of the unknown but I'm so glad I did. I much prefer the classes, the app and website is great, I have a great leader and its nice having the WW products to sometimes fall back on when needed too xxx Sent from my iPhone using MiniMins
