    Hi All

    I have been struggleing to get back into the swing of things especially since I am now struggling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / ME and finding it difficult to find any consistancy with exercise. I can lose 4-5 lbs, like over the last few weeks, and then put it all back on plus more the week after. I have found my body and mindset just yo yo's and I don't seem to be able to get back down into the 11/12 stones.

    I have so many health issues that keep springing up and as soon as I get one thing sorted something else comes along.

    I am now back up to 14st 10lbs and have been thinking and reading up about gastric band surgery! Then I came across a local hypnotherapist that offers Hypnotherapy Gastric Bands with a full support programme during and after as needed. I have spoken to one of the therapists clients, a lovely lady called Julie, and she has shown me evidence including photos and her weight loss journey since she had her Hypno Gastrc band last July and I have to say the results are impressive. She had her Virtual Gastric Band fitted by hynotherapy last July and she was then 18 stone, she is now 13 stone 6lbs.

    I am aware that hypnotherapy does not work for everyone and there are therapist out there that are not qualified, but I have researched to find this one and am going to give it a go. I have no idea how well this will work for me but know I have only money to lose and that I am willing to take the gamble on this hynotherapist as he has a great track record and works very hard to support his clients.

    I have now completed all my weightloss / health questionaires and await an appointment to discuss these before my therapist will then work on a programme tailor made to suit my needs. This is not a quick fix as it takes several sessions before I will have the Virtual Gastric Band fitted and also my therapist will talk with my GP first to check on the info I have given him about my health problems.

    I think we are looking at getting started at the end of February and to be honest I can't wait. I think it is just what I need to support me to my target and beyond. I am so fed up of struggleing on my own and never reaching my goal.

    Hi Jo, it sounds like your therapist is very thorough! Mine isn't working like it did at the start but that's really because I had the therapy 2 years ago and not been able to go back for top up sessions because of location. But the CBT side of it has stuck and I now use hypno apps to keep me on track

    Hi thanks for telling me your experience, I have read back through this thread and read that you have had hypnotherapy. I am using a local Hypnotherapist so that I will be able to get back up support if needed. All my sessions are tailor made and each hynotherapy session is recorded so I'll get a cd or mp3 of the whole programme. I will also have to fill out weekly eating diary sheets to send/email to therapist so he can monitor my progress and adjust the band if/when necessary. I am vey excited to get started.

    It is a shame you aren't able to revisit your hynotherapist but hopefully like you say the CBT and your apps will keep you on track. Thanks again for reply! Jo x

    I forgot to mention I have a relaxation recording to listen too from the Hypnotherapst I am going to use for my Gastric Band Hypnosis. I am using it to help to get my head ready to start my therapy at the end of February. It also helps to get you used to the person you are to have session with.

    I have used it mainly in the evening and each time have not remembered all the way through. I remember to about just before half way through and then nothing else until I come around at the end lol. I have felt so relaxed after each ltime I have listened and just go to bed afterwards and sleep like a baby. My hubby Keith said he has even popped into the room to see if I want a cuppa but all he found was me out for the count :0) Jo x

    One of the most exciting things I am looking forward to in my hypnotherapy sessions is working on the reasons behind my overeating / bad eating habits. I think the reason I always find it so hard to stick long term to any diet/exercise programme, is because I have never really addressed the reasons why I was obese / overweight in the first place.

    An example of this is when I gave up smoking in 2008 I never looked at ways to cope with the void of not smoking. I still crave for something everytime I have a cuppa, I still crave for something after I finish a meal. More often then not I use food to fill that void.

    I hope with having a opportunity to look at this during my sessions, I will not only of kicked the habit of smoking but also kick the unhealthy subsitutes I use to fill the void! Jo x

    I have a therapist who works with the thrive programme- not sure whether you're familiar with that but the last 4 sessions will be the hypno band. I really really hope it helps.

    Hi and welcome to the thread. I hadn't heard of the Thrive Programme but have since looked it up and it seems interesting. I am sure you have researched your options and therefore must have trust in the therapist you have choosen.     The first two sessions are all thrive based and then the last 4 are the hypnoband.. Will let you know for sure how I get on x

    I had a lovely e-mail today from my hynotherapist who was just checking in with me while I wait for my therapy sessions to start. We have agreed the week of the 25th of Feb is a good time to make a start on my sessions. We just have to agree on a good time then I can start counting down the days. I am getting excited now .
