Just what the title says really

Will running 3/4 times a week on top of my daily work out routine help me lose the pounds?

I do 3/4 spin classes at 45 mins a week but it's now my 8th week and need something different and bit more.

I still have 4 stone to lose and don't feel like y body is worn out or needs me to stop so?

Hi Laura, I am hoping it will work for me, am stepping up my running as of this week as my weight loss as all but stopped and I still have about 1.5 - 2 stone left to lose.
The hard thing is not eating more to compensate for the calories burned.

I know someone from work who has lost a good few stones by running every morning. She said it means she can then eat what she wants! She can't be eating too much junk though! :)
She looks completely different now to a year ago.

How far does she run, Lesley? Would love to be able to eat what I want within reason and not be overweight.

About 6 miles a morning Faxman :)

Yeh see the plan right now Is to lose the weight by running and then continue to run and hopefully will assist with eating and maintaining

Keep checking my heart rate on my hrm and starting to think my thing is broken ... Showing my resting heart rate as 47bpm
Isn't that low?

That is low? How old are you? You do know that you're real resting heart rate is before you even get up and move in the morning?

Zakcat.... I must admit I am worried because I'm no athlete, tried to get a doctors appointment and nothing till Thursday but Thursday I'm up town for a big client meeting and dinner but defo think I need to get it checked!

What do you know about that sort of thing? I'm slightly concerned

So are we to assume if I'm consistently 47-52 throughout the day then upon waking it would be even lower?

It's probably not more cardio you need.

You'd be better off doing some strength/resistance workout to help burn fat. Yoga, pilates or weights would be a good place to start.

Also, make sure you're eating back some of your exercise calories.

Laura, try taking your pulse by putting your fingers round your wrist for 1 minute and just count. It will be similar to your heart rate and give you an idea if the monitor is accurate.
47 beats does sound low.

Sounds like something called Bradycardia. Glad they trying to sort you out. All the best :)

Could it be that you are just SO fit that you have the resting heart rate of an athlete...?

I would have said yes if I have hard breathing just in day to day walking around and spin and run makes me really gasp

Wish I was an athlete condition lol

Well I hope the tests show that everything is all right. Maybe running will help to get your heart back to whatever state it should be in!
