    Potential new BMI figures?

This was an interesting story in some of the papers today:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...le-longer.html

At 5'8" maybe I'm a couple of pounds less overweight than I thought, lol. As Tesco would say, every little helps!

Well I hope this isn't changing any time soon! I am only 5'3 and need to get my BMI down to 30 for fertility treatment. I'd rather not have another obstacle in my way... :/

I know what you mean - I didn't get the impression from the article that the NHS would be adopting the new figures anytime soon though. xx

Why do people take notice of BMI figures. We are all different shapes and sizes so BMI means nothing.

Very true, but the NHS will insist on using it as a measure unfortunately, even though it's nonsense. xx

Yep. Until the NHS stop using it (not likely), I have no choice but to pay attention to it.

I couldn't find my own from this scale it didn't show one for 5ft 6 - is that because it's not changed? Would be just my luck! Not that it matters as you say BMI means nothing. I prefer body fat % (mainly cos it says I'm within the normal range!)

They should just do away with BMI altogether. Body fat and measurements should be the main things.
