Weight loss for my child
Hi, I'm looking for some weight loss advice for my child, he is a 12 year old boy who is 4"10 and weighs 12stone 6lbs, making him very overweight. He really struggles with exercise and eats an incredible amount, any help will be appreciated.
You could join slimming world with him. They hsve a special plan for 11-15 year olds that's more about teaching them to mKe healthy swaps rather than cutting out everything they love

Diet is shown to have a much greater impact on weight then exercise, it is the food side of things you need to tackle first as this will have the greatest impact and one he find exercise easier you can add that too. I would imagine he may be self concious about the weight too which perhaps is another reason he may want to avoid exercise?
Do you know why he eats so much, is he hungry and eats big portions or is he eating the wrong food (at school, buying himself or at home)
i know some kids who eat a packed lunch for school which is so loaded with sugar that by the time they come home they have crashed and raid the kitchen for any food they can find. the type of food we eat can really effect our appetite (i should know!)
