help with negative thoughts

not sure if this is in the right place so ill say sorry now but right now am feeling rubbish,
ive been following slimming world for the last few weeks and have had 5.5lbs weight loss in the last two weeks which im really pleased with. ive been going to the gym 3 - 4 times a week and getting a real buzz from it all, untill tonight i have just suddenly started to feel really tearfull and have litterally sat in floods of tears surrounded by all the old negetive thoughts and self loathing. im just wondering wether this could be kind of like my body haveing a reaction to the lack of junk food and crap thats it used too ( i was a complete chocoholic who binged regularly ) and have stuck to slimming world for the last 2 weeks 100% includeing only haveing a frys turkish delight in the whole time

sorry for theese ramblings of a crazy woman but would be gratefull for any advice

tj

Hmmm, in my experience physical withdrawal comes within a couple of days... and its headaches and feelings of lethargy, not in emotions.
Could it be hormonal? ... I know I get all negative and weepy at TOM. You're doing really well hun, so keep it up. Stay positive.

Ugh Negative thoughts are the worst.

Thee is some weird stuff that goes on in our minds and we are only beginning to figure out how thoughts can effect our physical well being.

At the very least though, they do not help anyone who is trying to succeed in anything.

Well i shouldn't be so hasty, sometimes negative thoughts remind us of exactly why we want to change for the better, but I digress.

I think in general that negative thoughts harm us. I think that it is far too easy for our mind to focus on these thoughts and I truly belive that what you put out, you get back. If you continually think negative, you will stay negative.

I allowed negative thoughts to keep me away from the gym for years!

I am now going 5 days a week and have been for about 4 months.

I had to take control of my own mind. I spent time visualizing myself as thin. I made sure to think about everything I have to be thankful for.

I wrote a lot. I found that helpful. If I had a negative thought and some free time I would force myself to write that negative thought down and then I would write about how it was untrue, o how I could fix it.

Negative thoughts can really get ya down, and it isn't easy to get rid of them. I suggest googling the topic because there are a ton of great resources for people who want to deal with their negative thoughts.

Excellent post Teddy. In the quagmire of self-doubt and negativity it's easy to think of ourselves as the only person in the world afflicted with bad thoughts.

We are are own worst critics ...

Excellent advice Teddy. Writing your feelings down really helps get them out in the open where they can be laid to rest once and for all (hopefully!). We all have a little monster in our heads now and then that tells us how rubbish we are, but you have to shut that little beggar up and don't listen to it!
