GI Diet Support Forum The GI diet explained how to manage blood sugars levels to help weight loss and encourage long-term good health. The GL (glycaemic load) is an exciting new extension of these principles and measures more accurately the carbohydrate load of food. This means that foods that had previously been considered high GI, e.g. melon, can now be introduced into your diet, as the amount of carbs you would eat in a portion, rather than in a whole melon, is calculated.

Diet: Together we lost 8 stone on CD.
Welcome back! Was wondering how you were getting on. Have you been busy with CD slimmer of the year stuff? Trying to stick to Gi Diet myself so will be keeping an eye on your new diary.

Hope everything is sorted out now and you continue to enjoy your new plan.

Hiya Dizzy

No unfortunately I havent been busy with Slimmer of the Year stuff, this is more personal stuff that has taken its toll on me and I have let it get to me. So now back to the drawing board for me. Are you maintaining with low GI or planning to lose with it?

Hoping your troubles are in the past now! Good question I am kind of both. I lost 4 1/2 stone on CD but didn't do well following the maintenance steps what with holidays and Xmas getting in the way. After putting on I think it was 11lb over Xmas I went back to CD but decided it wasn't going to work for me so joined ediets and started following and learning Gi. It was great, lovely meal plans but it did all fall apart for a bit. No fault of the plan, I am doing a lot of exercise which makes me hungry especially as I often go to the gym over lunch time and therefore was getting over hungry and my initial plan didn't allow for all the extra calories I need due to exercise.

Bit more to it than that but I am still up on the scales currently 12 stone 1 pound. However, much fitter as at 11 stone I did no exercise. I am sticking to Gi and feel like I'm really getting back on track I bought a book of family Gi recipes as I was finding I was too tired to cook 2 meals in the evenings.

I do have a diary in the maintenance section but not updating too often now although will pick it up again. There are some of the lovely recipes from ediets on my diary.

My boy needs help with homework so much go now.
