| GI Diet Support Forum The GI diet explained how to manage blood sugars levels to help weight loss and encourage long-term good health. The GL (glycaemic load) is an exciting new extension of these principles and measures more accurately the carbohydrate load of food. This means that foods that had previously been considered high GI, e.g. melon, can now be introduced into your diet, as the amount of carbs you would eat in a portion, rather than in a whole melon, is calculated. |

I have a book but it seems complicated when all I really want is a list of low middle and high GI foods. Can anyone reccomend a book or website that would help? I have been trying to do a low GI diet as research suggests for women with PCOS this is the way to go. I have lost weight over the past four weeks but I don't want to get stuck eating the same foods day in and out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My Mood: Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hiya Honeykiss What book have you got? If you want a quick reference guide of low, medium and high GI food, Rick Gallops GI Diet has some great charts at the back of it, it is colour coded too so very simple! You can get it very cheaply on ebay. There is also a shopping guide of the book too which is very small and handy! I very much recommend this diet and there is loads of choice in it - there are also several very good cookery books that guide you along. Its only downside is that it does involve a lot of cooking, but I feel fablous for eating lots of fresh veg and fruit! And it is a great diet too - just look at my ticker below! Goodluck! My Mood: Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Snail I've lost 32 pounds since September last year. I lost weight fairly regularly (1.5-2 pounds a week) until about Xmas since then I've good some weeks and bad others but fortunately in the bad weeks I haven't gained, just maintained. I need to be more focussed and get on with with this diet! Hope that helps Snail. Luv CC xx xx xx |
