Well, all I can say is, there's got to be something to this. I have been following Cambridge 1000 cals, and using GI foods whenever I can. I have lost 10lbs in 2 weeks, and am in trouble with me CDC as she thinks I haven't been eating enough! Don't know what's going on, but SOMETHING is!!!!!

Thanks Libbie - I've got everything crossed as I type this - but it's NOT as bad as I thought it was going to be - up to now.

    Trying to catch up...

    Hiya Guys

Have been trying to catch with everything on this thread! Sorry to Lavender who I have promised various bits of info and not yet responded...

It's great to hear that Westhills has had some great losses eating low GI foods! I can vouch for it too having now lost 12 pounds in six weeks. Obviously it is not as fast as a VLCD but it is working!

...and it's sustainable. You have the advantage over us who when down the ssing route as we then have to learn how to eat again but you are doing that as you go along

Yes I'm back to lose 6 stone for a third time. For goodness sake, do the maintenance this time!

It is so encouraging to hear that GI is so effective! When I get to BMI 25 I would be happy to just maintain, but if a few more pounds come off along the way then that would be great.

Has anyone used GL, and if you have how effective has it been? I have been reading a bit about it and it seems to allow more types of food. I would assume that weight loss may not be the same though?

I thought that I would start with GI, after 6 months of SS the food allowed on GI will be wonderful! If GL looks good then maybe it will be a natural progression on from GI, or maybe a combination of the two.

I am so glad to have found this thread, I was worried baout the support when I started maintenance, but not anymore!!

    Hi Lavender

Just reread your post from a couple of days ago and see that there is a question in it all!

With the GI diet all I can say is follow Rick Gallop's book to the word and only eat green listed foods!

However I have no idea how things will work for someone who's coming off a VLCD... It will come off but slowly.

    Hope it all goes well!

    Take care
