Hello :)
I'm trying thos diet as Im caught up in a cycle of eating to satisfy at that moment and suffering with all the symptoms of low blood sugar after an hr or two. I'm a serial dieter with still about 5st to lose. Any of you got any good tips? Just ordered my book so will start properly once iv read it. Have u had much luck with the diet so far?

Xxx

Hey there, welcome to the GI thread - good to see some more people on here! I've only been here a couple of weeks but enjoying it so far!!
Which book is it you've ordered?
I am not following a book at the moment although I do have some low GI recipe books and have also found a lot of helpful things online.

I suffer from PCOS and that is my main symptom of my blood sugar levels so hoping the GI sorts me out!! I also have about 5 stone to lose so I really hope it helps to shift the weight!

Good luck with your journey - there is lots of support on here if you need it!!! :)

Iv ordered the main one but the revised addition, forget its title, sti waiting on it to arrive so not really sure what.I'm doing until then! This seems a very quiet thread! X

It's far too quiet a thread ..!!!!

B : two scrambled eggs and 1 round 100% wholemeal bread low fat grated cheese
L : garlic and chilli prawns with pearl barley rissotto
D : salmon fillet baked with knob butter lemon juice and dill... Broccoli ... New potato ... Baked garlic mushrooms :)

Been following GI principles for years . Only have wholemeal bread wholewheat pasta and brown rice ..!!! Have lowered my carbs a bit to lose weight x I could never go back to white stuff ..!!

I dont know if I've lost any weight yet as havent actually stepped on the scales yet in two weeks - got sick of being addicted to the scales at WW and slimming world so trying to do it more on a monthly basis this time (although doing it like this I'll probably forget about it!)
I do feel a lot healthier and more energetic though which is just as important!!!

That's good! Definitely Important, don't know hoe u can go a month without checking! I check about 3 times a week, try to stick to once a week but I guess.u know how hard that can be!! Iv just come from ww too. I just got into a habit of, oh well ax few more pps won't matter and stopped losing. Still waiting on book to arrive. Do u have any staple favourites which u couldn't do without? How did u kick the sugar? Xx

Have just made a chocolate fudge cake with Quinoa flour, smells interesting when cooking, cake mix was a bit interesting tasting.. Cake itself once cooked.. Yummy, and tastes kind of nutty, is light and fluffy not at all dense or heavy.

Made with real sugar and butter, 30g almond flour, plus 2T sweet freedom - 3 eggs, quinoa flour and cocoa powder.. Did a direct swap of wheat flour to quinoa, and added an extra egg and bit more baking powder..

Will see if OH likes it and if he does will make a big one for Saturday when people come to visit..

Next time will try using all sweet freedom ... Then it will be proper low GI Mmmm and add some coconut..
