Hello and welcome to the harcombe diet! today is my last day of phase 1 and i can honestly say it has been the best diet i have ever done and I'm so happy I did it! the first day was hard but it only gets easier and easier and I've had no cravings for anything since the first day and i usually want sugar or junk all the time! i ordered the book a week and a half ago too and it still hasn't come but as far as i know they are both carb foods so they should be ok to have together! Have a look at this link and it gives you a 5 day meal plan if you are unsure :)

Best of luck and keep us updated :) x

Hi yes you can in phase 1. In phase 2 you need to have fat free yoghurt as porridge is a carb meal. You'll enjoy this diet it's good and really surprising when you notice exactly how much things they pump sugar and sweetners into!!! Basically phase 1 is meat egg fish and veg with 50g of either brown rice or porridge each day. I find that a fat breakfast (eggs or meat) fill me up much longer than porridge though. Good luck and stick around let us know how you're findin it x

Thanks Ladies, found the diet relatively easy so far, tomorrow is day 5 of phase one. Not been hungry which is a good thing. My book came so trying to read through that which I have found very interesting so far. Think I have lost 5lbs so far so very happy with that. Just compiling my shopping list for phase 2 so need to check out some threads for ideas for meals x :D

Great result well done! Take it slowly in p2, introduce one new food at a time is the advice I've read x glad you're finding it easy. I enjoy it too x

Sorry been a bit quiet. I have lost 9lbs in total since starting which I am pleased with. I have had a day off here and there where I have had things on, but got straight back on it the next day. How are you getting on? Normally i have an incredible sweet tooth but only thing i am missing is a cup of tea. Pre THD i only had one cup of tea a day and today I really fancied one because it was cold and snowing so I had a decaf tea with splash of skimmed milk - is that allowed?

Yeah your occasional tea will be fine you did right with the decaf just watch if they become too frequent with the carbs in the milk!

Great results are you still enjoying THD? I'm doing ok bar social stuff getting in the way! Same as always but am finding it easy enough to get back to this way of eating which is good x

Yes I know what you mean about social stuff getting in the way. I am still enjoying it at the moment. I go away in 2 wks so I am being really focused. I can't see me sticking to it long term I think I might get bored. I am running out of ideas what to have for meals. I need to finish reading the book for inspiration, not picked it up for over a week and only on pg 44!!

Def finish the book it really is worth reading. The recipe book is good too although I always try and find a version of whatever I would normally eat so that it fits forever if that makes sense? So still have bolognaise, steak, curry etc. what sort of foods do you like? Where are you off to on holiday? X

I have had a lot of steak recently. I tried the butternut squash curry with rice and that was nice. I love bolognaise and chilli but i don't know what to have with it because I can't have spaghetti or rice. What do you serve with yours? I suppose I could do butternut squash chips. Think I might have to buy the recipe book for inspiration. Off to lanzarote on a girlie holiday only for 4 nights, can't wait x

You can have cauliflower rice (fry grated cauliflower with a bit of onion) also courgette grates thinly fried in butter is meant to be a good substitute for spaghetti but haven't tried this. I normally just have a form of chips, either celeriac or butternut squash! Def get the book! Wow how much fun will that be!! X

Thanks for the ideas! I will give the cauliflower rice and courgette a try. Not tried celeriac before so will give that a go too. I love BNS chips!. I have ordered the recipe book for more inspiration so looking forward to that coming. I also saw on another thread you recommended the official forum and facebook group so I joined and got a few recipe ideas from there. The holiday should be good fun, its been years since we have all had a girls holiday x
