CLEAN EATING

Hi! this is my first post back after 5 years :/ Im 24 and have 4-4.5 stone to lose. i have a few mini goals in mind and a number of weddings in spring which id like to be at least 2-3 stone lighter for. my ultimate goal i suppose is doing this in a healthy manner. I (probably like every other person on here) have yo-yo'ed tried all things under the sun from dukan to soup to starvation and back round to binging again, each time feeling worse than the last.

Over the last 2 year i have put on about 2 stone while all the time trying to lose it, somehow after the first sucessful week of sticking to a diet i will reward myself for the next month with cake and curry :/

However now i feel the time has come for me to look at my weight in a different light, i have joined this site for support and ideas and meeting like minded people. I want to become healthier as my ultimate goal, i am 4 stone over weight, i dont exercise, i smoke and i eat everything under the sun. My father had a severe stroke 5 years ago which has left his partially disabled and recently my mother passed away from cancer . While i know these situations cannot be blamed on lifestyle and health solely there are always elements that we can change and at least try our hardest to do the best for ourselves, and i feel i have an obligation to at least try.

Im aiming to have a lifestyle change, incorporate more exercise, stop smoking and eat clean(er). Im not going to be stupid and expect to be able to do all of this straight away as it is a complete change for me but any advice would be very helpful

I havent really found my way around the site yet so any helpful tips would be really appreciated

Hi Delilah,

Happy new year! I just seen your post and thought I'd reply and see if you are still around. I'm sorry to hear about your father and mother. My bf's mother recently took a stroke and is still in hospital but has very recently started getting some feeling back in her right side.

Claire

Hi! Haven't been on in ages! How are you Claire? I'm sorry to hear about you bfs mother, it's a long process recovery but you'll be surprised how far the recovery can go :) xx

Good morning!
Hope you are ok :) sorry to hear about your parents :(

I'm also trying to eat cleaner and exercise more (I won't stop smoking lol) ... I have to lose at least (the very min) 6 kgs

Have you already joined a gym or you are thinking about training at home? (gym is the best solution in my opinion, it forces you to go and work out!)
I am always hungry so I am starting to eat veggies as snacks... I know it is not as tasty as bread/cakes/chips, but it's much more healthier and it does not contain so many kcals hehe I am kinda desperate with my weight. It seems to be impossible to get rid of these "last" kgs!

Have a very nice day
Kate
