Craving sweet foods all week

As the title says really - craving sweet foods (i.e chocolate/icecream and sweets) all week. Gave in earlier & ate an entire bag of chocolate buttons (oops :p and 2 chocolate yogurts) & now feeling guilty.

Anyone got any tips for steering away from naughty foods and eating healthier snacks instead? I do try and eat some fruit and veg every day.

I know it'll ruin my weight loss if I don't sort it out.

I buy sweets and make them into 100 cal bags i still get to eat them but limit the damage !
Pop corns a good one and theres lots of ice lollies low cals

Sorry this isn't helping you avoid them but maybe if you have a little a couple of times a week may stop the over eating of them !!

do you like raisins? you could get those little boxes like i do, each box is about 40g and 130 cals, satisfies my sweet tooth! bx

I find if I am craving something sweet and high calorie, treat yourself and have it that once time otherwise I would be pestering myself until I had it !

The advice is good on here, thank you!!

I have a really problem with sweet foods. I really want to find something that is chocolatey but of course low on calories. I have found that when I have steered away from chocolate for more than a couple of days I do start losing the weight but I find it extremely difficult to cut down on the sweet foods.

I do ride to work each day which I'm sure is helping but I just need to find a way to cut out the crap!! Lol!!

I'm new to this forum (first post!!!) so I hope I'm not waffling on to much!!

Well any advice would be much appreciated.

Bye for now. :)

what about those low fat chocolate mousses there lovely and wow calories and fat x

A sachet of Belgian Choc Options mixed into a small tub of quark makes a low-cal chocolate pudding. Aldi ice pops are only 18 calories per pop and are good for a sugar fix.

hm... i'm not keen on products that promote low fat/cal because they're full of artifical ingredients and chemicals which aren't good for a clean diet and it can make you even more hungry, so you reach out for nibbles ladden with calories and/or eat more, making the whole low fat option void, i suppose?? xx

I agree with bethmaj that artificial low-calorie or low-fat snacks/sweets can make you crave them even more, besides very often the taste is inferior and other ingredients are added to combat the bland taste (the typical low-fat snack will have much more sugar, etc.). Previously, when I managed to lose about 2 stone, I found that fruit and nuts were an excellent replacement of sweets, I especially enjoyed dried mango pieces or medjool dates (2-3 cut in halves is more then enough) filled with a little bit of peanut or almond butter with a tiny splash of agave syrup (or jam, honey) and toped with a cashew or almond - delicious and relatively healthy (at least natural).
