Talking Hello - newbie on the forum, not such a newbie to weight loss!!!

    Hello
My name is Tanya, I'm 38 yrs young and I live in Cornwall with my partner and beautiful daughter, who is 2 and a half!
I've struggled with my weight for almost most of my adult live.
Currently I'm at my heaviest - I'm 5ft 11 and I weigh over 17stone - I can't share my actual weight because I still struggle telling anyone but believe me it's not good!
I swore that when my daughter was born it would be a turning point! I want to be a fit mum, I want to run around and play with my daughter - without getting totally out of breath! We are fortunate enough to live right by the beach. Summer for me is a nightmare - always hiding behind horrible clothes.
I not only want to do it for my daughter but I need to do this for myself and every relationship I have.
I know that if I loose weight my whole life will change, my relationship with my partner would be excellent - currently it's not brilliant - we love each other but I can't stand the thought of making love - purely because I'm scared of him touching me! How bad is that?

    ANYWAY.......
I'm going back to Slimming World - i've done it very successfully in the past, I know I can do it and this time it's now or never!

I'm going to hopefully make some friends on this forum. I hope to post weekly to tell everyone of my progress.

They say life begins at 40 - I really want to believe that and I'm going to do everything I can to make it happen.

Take care everyone and good luck with your loss.
    Tanya

    Hi Tanya
First I want to wish you luck, and you will do this. I lol when I read you comment about life begins at 40, as that is my goal, and I have one year less than you so my diet has to work fast.
I know what you mean about running around after them. I am a smoker (not around the kids) so I put that down to why I am out of breath but deep down I know it is really my weight that is the problem.
Keep in touch and all the best

    Hi Tanya,
your welcome. From reading around the site I know you will gets lots of support as that is why we are all here, to help each other along.

My weight has also been an issue since I was about 19 when after not seeing a friend for a couple of months her first words to me were, gosh your fat...... thanks mate! She always has spoken her mind but even now we are still very close friends. I only wish I was at the same weight now, as back then I was only about 9 1/2 stone but I had shot up from 8 stone so I guess then it was more obvious I had put on weight whereas now I could probably get away with a couple of stone either way before anyone noticed.

I certainly haven't had any comments on my recent weight loss but I am still in the baggy jumpers.

Regarding your relationship, and this applies to you as well Hannah, how about a nice early night with the lights off, some alcohol if you need it to help you relax and let nature take its course..... I am sure your partners will be so grateful the last thing they will think of is your weight.

Keep in touch and let me know how things are going.
    All the best
