Hi, I started slimming world last week! After having 2 babies in only 10 months of each other and a boyfriend with a taste for anything Indian the weight has piled on!! Have a special event in June and my birthday in August and would like to look nice in a dress that fits properly and looks good! Need motivation as doing it at home on my own this time round to start off with! Any tips, help, advice or friendly faces please feel to say hello :) xxx

Welcome, I find weighing myself on one of the weekly weigh ins helps me stay on track, also setting mini goals, good luck.

Hey hun,

Welcome, I'm also doing Slimming world and am sure the weight will come off for you. I've got two boys and have a 2 year gap.... didn't stop the weight issues. How old are your kiddies? Mine are 3 and 10.5 months.

Hi girls! Thanks for replying :) my weigh in day is a Tuesday, my problem is though when I did slimming world before I would find myself jumping on the scales for a sneaky peek at the weekend and feeling disappointed because the weight loss wasn't as big as it would of been if I'd waited the whole week! Trying to break that habit this time!! I have 4 children altogether, 7 year old boy, 2 year old girl and 1 year old boy, and my 6 year old step-daughter. My two youngest were both born in 2012! My daughter late January 2012 and my son beginning of December 2012! Good going!! Hehe! Good luck ladies with your losses and goals, we can all do it together :) xxx

I'm partially in the same boat... I don't have children but I started SW a week ago today and also have a boyfriend with a love of Indian.... I've found that buying the Slimming world magazine helps as it has plenty of easy to cook recipes (including curries!) I've cooked a SW curry which my boyfriend loved and said was just as nice as any other he'd tasted before... If you would like the recipe just let me know x

I would love the recipe thank you! Tried a curry once before and to be honest, the one I tried wasn't the same so would love to try one that has an Indian lovers recommendation :) !! Good luck with your weight loss, is your day a Tuesday weigh in the same as mine? xx

Yeah it's Tuesday's :) first official one tonight!!
I fry onions in fry light till they're soft, add 2 cloves of garlic and some grated fresh ginger. I then add a tin of chopped tomatoes with 3-4 spoonfuls of curry powder (however hot is your choice ha)
I then add the chicken/prawns/beef/meat of your choice (lean if red meat or skin removed on chicken) into the sauce and let it simmer until meat is cooked through. Then add a tablespoon or two of fat free yoghurt and then serve with rice!
Hope it tastes ok for you :)

There's also a syn free biriani recipe in this month issue of SW mag too xx

Hi Gemma,

I have just joined as well today as I started my 30th diet last week and I swore to myself that this would be the last one. I believe I will receive lots of motivation from people here and do not lose the motivation when the pounds do not come off as fast as they used to.
Good luck to you and having the babies at home won't make it easy for you I guess.
All the best in the challenge.

Hi Ann, good luck to you too! That is the reason why joined Minimins, I could just see by browsing how nice, kind and inspirational everyone is and it's the kick up the butt and help I think I need to continue and not give in when the going gets tough :) Having the babies at home is hard but I just buy them treats that I don't like, so that way they still get a few goodies and even if I caved in, I don't like them anyway ;) feel free to drop by anytime and let us know how you're doing with your plan and goals :) xxx
