At the start of a big journey

Hiya!

I am at the start of a long road, I have about 50kgs to lose and hope to meet some people on a similar path to me so we can support each other along the way.

I have PCOS, and my weight piled on quite suddenly when I hit my early 20s.. I've always wanted to lose weight, but have never been unhappy enough with my size to properly commit to the process. I've made a few attempts over the last few years, but the PCOS doesn't make it easy and I seem to lose 5kgs OK, but then it stalls for ages and I just get fed up.

I do have a bad back after an assault a few years ago, and no doubt my weight doesn't help that! But more importantly, I'm desperate to start a family and alongside the PCOS I also need to have an operation on my uterus or I will most likely just have one miscarriage after the other. Even though it's a simple, non invasive procedure the NHS won't do it until my BMI is under 30, and its currently 45!!

I'm starting on meal replacements, although I never, ever wanted to do these I've come around to thinking it could actually be really good for me. To take food out of the equation for awhile, and also to break the 5kg barrier that I seem to always stall at.

My plan is to start on Cambridge in the next week or so, I think I need the weekly support of the CDC and the variety of the shakes and soups.

My flatmate just started on the Asda Measure Up shakes, and I've started those too.. We're on day three so far, yesterday was quite difficult in feeling hungry, weak and a bad headache... but that's probably down to coming off a sugar and carb addiction? The flavours aren't that varied, (cafe latte, chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) but so far I'm not hating it :)

I'm feeling quite positive, and just thinking with every shake I am getting one step closer to the end goal. A baby!

Anyway, that's quite a long intro. Thanks for reading :)

Hi there and welcome :)

You seem really focused and determined which is great. You've come to the right place for support and advice, you'll get lots of both on here.

Good luck and I look forward to following your progress :)
