New to minimins - Hello x

Hi everyone,

My names Natasha, i'm new to minimins. I heard about this website through a friend so i thought id give it a go.. I piled on weight about 7 years ago and need to do something about it, im about to start my diet tomorrow, im doing calorie counting and lots of exercise - ive purchased the power 90 dvd, and then im going to go on to Insanity after. Wish me luck xx

I am starting a 'new' diet tomorrow....

I have been doing it on my own for 17 months my eating healthy and have lost 38 pounds but tomorrow I am joining Slimming World as I have a free 12 week referral from the GP

Good luck with your journey I am sure you will do great..... there is loads of support here :welcome:

My sister has just joined Slimming world also she said its really helping her, but unfortunately i dont have to time at the moment, so im just going on a low cal diet and im doing a 5 day a week work out, i watched the dvd earlier and my jaw was hitting the floor its that fast lol.. Im going to be cheeky and get tips from my sister from slimming world though..

Hi I'm new too! Was doing SW for 3 weeks lost 51/2 lb but just switched to weight watchers online last Friday. Weigh In tomorrow can't wait to see if I've lost anything. Finding weight watchers much easier for me to do as I was struggling with eating all the fruit and veg on SW.

Hoping to loose about 2 1/2 stone all together :)

Sometimes finding what suits you is the hardest part.... I joined slimming world on Monday, but I love fruit and Veg so it should be ok for me....

Good luck with the weight watchers.... you have already made a great start with the loss you made at slimming world :D

Welcome to minimins Wifey. Starting a weight loss program, succeeding to lose weight with it and after only 3 weeks shifting to something else, I don't think is the right attitude. On the other hand you were not feeling OK so you try something else you feel better with. WW is a reputable program and many people have lost weight with it. Wish you good luck and please stick to this program long enough to lose your extra weight.

Wow bit judgemental about my attitude aren't you?! I suffer with IBS hence the switch and not getting on that great with fruit, veg, pasta, and anything wholemeal! Yes I did lose weight but believe me I suffered for the entire 3 weeks!

I know my body and I know what works for me!!!
 
I am sorry if what I've mentioned considered judgemental. That was not my intention. That's why in the next sentence said: "On the other hand you were not feelink OK...". I just had the intention to make a general discussion about things individuals do and fail (they abandon their plan) and things make them doing so (for any reason they can't follow a diet plan so they start with another plan). The problem is I used "YOU", as if it was for you. I should have used more general expressions. I am sorry, I am not here to judge anybody. We all need encouragement and positive attitude to lose extra weight. Please accept my apologies,

I suppose that's the thing with forums, things can be taken out of context. Don't worry about it, I didn't explain properly why I had switched in the first place. I've had success with weight watchers in the past and then fallen off the wagon, I tried SW because my friends seem to be doing really well. The problem for me is that I don't get on all that well with the majority of the 'free foods' plus I was finding I was eating far too many potatoes and pasta which were bloating me, and kicking of my ibs good style. WW is better for me as I can control portion sizes and eat the things I like/agree with me.
 
You know Wifey sometimes I tend to make statements rather than asking questions. I do this to my family too and believe me, it is not a good thing. I should have made a couple of questions first. When you do something you like you can make things much better. This is the case with WW. You know better and you like it more. Good luck with your diet and it was nice to meet you. CU later.
 
Hi all i joind on the 19 sept. first weigh in yesterday and lost 3 and a half pounds (was happy and still enjoyed a bottle of wine over the weekend and a couple glasses in the week) - nervous for week two heard its harder - any tips ? x
 
My boyfriend was a bad influence this weekend, he came home with fish and chips because i told him he would have to wait a few hours for dinner lol. I gave the dog half of mine though and did some extra exercise.. Not going to punish myself about it!
