Hi everyone! This is my super long story....
I've joined this forum because about an hour ago I weighed myself for the first time in about 6 months, and I'm devastated by the numbers I saw! I've always had a problem with my weight, and when I was about 16 I fell into some bad eating habits, resulting in me going from a size 16 to a size 12/14 in a matter of weeks. Then I met my now fiancé and after 5 years I've managed to pile on all that weight and more, ending up a size 22/24 - which is utterly horrifying. Last time I properly weighed myself I was 301lbs, and managed to get down to 292, now I'm up to 317 and I feel horrible! I'm 5ft 8 and I know I don't 'look' my weight and dress size but it still feels awful to be this weight! My first goal is to get to 300lbs, then 250, then 200, then 146. I don't know why I've chosen 146lbs as a goal weight but it seems like a nice number, and would put my BMI at 21.8, deemed a 'healthy' weight by NHS!
Losing this weight means everything to me. Once I'm happy with my weight and how I look, I'll be able to get married, be more confident, be able to buy all the clothes that only look good on thin people, and be happy! I know that this is going to take me a long time, I'm not interested in any quick fixes because I know they don't work from experience! I've tried weight watchers etc, and found they don't work for me either. I'm currently unemployed so I'm going to push myself to do at least 2 hours of exercise a day, and generally eat well. If I'm not sweating my arse off (literally!) by the end of a work out I know I haven't worked myself hard enough, and instead of saying "I can't eat that" about certain foods, I'm saying "I can, I just don't want to".
TLDR; put on a tonne of weight, not happy, going to lose it the long, hard, but successful way!
Can't wait to talk to you all and read your success stories!
