    hiya im new.

Hiya. Im Amy im 26 and im from uk. I am a single mom to an almost 2 year old and I suffer from pcos. As of today I have reached my highest weight at 15st 5lb at 5ft7. I was offered help from my gp but have never heard back so have come here seeking help and support. I know quite a few people on slimming world and like seeing the success.

Hi momzilla18, I am new to the forum, and it's a great comfort to be able to share tips and encouragement with so many people on the same weightless journey. Are you going to join a club too? I joined SW beginning of February and so far so good... If you follow the rules and stick to them it works... Add a bit of extra activity and even better.

The last week or so I have had a bit of a wobble and I know I was indulging in 'the not so good' food choices plus wasn't walking as far as my dog has had to have a big operation! Anyways Easter has past and I have giving myself a good talking to to get back on track.

i wish you good luck, lots of motivation along with willpower to have great results... You will feel so much better when the weight starts shifting. :0)
Tackling the problem 1lb at a time... Every bit off is a step in the right direction!

    Targets:
get under 15 st - done
get under 14 st - done
    Next target = Get to 13st 8.5lbs - SW 10% target (2.5lbs to go)

Thanks commenting. I am thinking of going to a group but the only one with a time thats suitable is quite far away and I dont drive. I know the walk would be good exercise but I dont know if I could keep an almost 2 year old occupied for over an hour to get there and again coming back. I have been trying to convince my mom to join so we can go together then I will get a ride.

Wow the weight would drop off if you! But I understand a walk on a nice day is better than on a day when the weather is miserable and if it's an evening class you need to stay safe. If your mum needs to lose weight too it could be a good thing to go together... Great motivator to have someone close to share the weight loss journey. Good luck

Hi Momzilla 18, good luck with your weight loss. If the Slimming World diet is the one you have chosen and you said you know a few people on it, maybe if you can't get to a club, you could have your own weigh in. Maybe a little gathering each week on a set day, weigh in, coffee and a chat.

Good luck with your weight loss

Thanks guys. I really want the atmosphere of the groups. My mom is all for joining with me so I will have her there plus we will go to the same one as my sister in law so I wont feel so scared about going. I will also be noting my measurements too as I build muscle pretty quick so if the weight loss is slow I may still be getting the benefits. X

Good luck momzilla! I wish I had someone to go with me. My friends & family are mostly skinny minnies & if they're not they're not bothered about losing weight. I used to attend slimming world but don't want to go on my own. I know it's stupid. So I'm doing it solo from home. I have the books etc from when I used to go. Does anyone know if there are websites that help calculate syns etc? I'm not a member so can't use the slimming world one. Thanks.

Hi Lemainy, their is usually some easy calculation for these things. Do a quick internet search or check the SW forum here, someone is sure to help.

Me again, just found a mention of 20kcals = 1 syn so decide the kcals by 20 to get your syns. Not sure how accurate this is, so may be best to check with others on the SW forum. Good luck.
