    I'm not convinced but will be keeping an eye of this thread. Was prescribed what is Alli now (cant remember what it's other name was) but was too scared to take it after a unpleasant incident!! Looked in boots the other day and they had a soluble fruit based tablet that you are supposed to drink before meals to reduce your appetite. Nearly got it but it was £20 and I figures that it was probably just a gimmick - I'm sure a big drink of anything before a meal would fill you up and reduce what you eat (like iced water). I'll try anything though if it will assist!! All boils down to hard work in the end though - shame!! Xx

    nah. I have never tried them but the ones I have heard of have a lot of side effects. Also, I don't know whether the high street ones would work for someone like me. Its all good and well saying they fill you up, but what if you eat just for the sake of eating

    For someone who needs a kick start and its something you would be prescribed thats fine, but otherwise I would stay away. Its all about changing mindset and unless you change how you eat and how you exercise I don't believe slimming pills are the answer.
    Weight loss to date - started 07/05/14 at 17 stone 5lb

    Week 1 14/05/14 = lost 4 lb (17st 1lb)
    week 2 21/05/14 = lost 2 lb (16st 13lb)
    Week 3 28/05/14 = lost 5 lb (16st 8lb)
    Week 4 04/06/14 = lost 6lb (16st 2lb)
    Week 5 11/06/14 = lost 1lb (16st 1lb)
    Week 6 18/06/14 = lost 2lb (15st 13lb)
    Week 7 25/06/14 = no change (15st 13lb)
    Week 8 02/07/14 = lost 3 lb (15st 10lb)
    Week 9 09/07/14 = plus 1lb (15st 11lb)
    This time I will do it!

    I was thinking more as a helper than just taking a pill. I little boost to your weight loss.

    The only one the NHS prescribe is Orlistat (prescription strength version of Alli). It can be a useful tool, though by no means a wonder drug, and at least it's safe - I had it on prescription for two years. xx

    It was Orlistat that I had before (couldn't remember the name) - however it didn't really agree with me - i think my interpretation of what was low fat was not compatible so i was too scared to take it after a particularly close call!!

    Lol, yes that will happen with Orlistat if you don't follow the rules. But it helped me lose over 10 stone, so I can't complain. x
