Hello...I'm New

Hi all....

I'm new here and just wanted to say Hi. I have always been a comfortable size 10-12 but after having my son 3 years ago I initially lost the baby weight (I think the shock of sleepless nights etc did it) but since going back to work I have crept up to a size 14-16 and am not happy so have decided to take the bull by the horns and shift the weight as I can't hide behind the "I've just had a baby" excuse any longer. :D

At the moment to kick start me I have been using SlimFast but know that's not a long term plan but can anyone recommend an easy diet to follow?

Thanks

Hi there

I have just joined this site as well and I am doing slimming world. Have you tried that before? It's amazing how much you can eat and you really don't feel like your missing out. Cheeky chocolate bar here and there is also possible thanks to the syns they allow. I find going to a class beneficial as it's extra encouragement and quite social x

Hey....I've not tried slimming world, I will take a look. I like Slimfast as I don't have to think about what I'm going to eat for two meals a day. I've been drinking loads of water and so I've not been feeling too hungry yet...

Good luck...keep me posted of how you're doing x

Thank you! There is lots of free food which helps so you don't have to think about what you're eating too much. I have tried slim fast before but miss the chewing motion too much! lol

Although saying that they did a ready made shake which was lemon meringue flavoured and it was yum!

have got my weigh in tomorrow so will let you know :) x

Hello there!
I'm also new and at quite a similar size to you , crept up to a 14 and wanna lose a bit and just tone up to feel more comfortable , good luck with your journey :D. X

Aw congrats on the loss....my weigh day is Thursday so I'll let you know how I do.

I actually don't mind the shakes. It just helps me as I don't have to think about food and counting at the moment and I find as long as I drink plenty of water I'm not too hungry (just running to the loo every 5 minutes but that's exercise right??).

hahaha I like your thinking, defo exercise! and not to mention all the getting up and down to get the water as well! ;0)

good luck on tomorrow!

Well just been and got weighed - 3lb off this week...going in the right direction (especially as its "that" time of the month too). I'm a bit gutted as the first week I did the shakes I didn't weigh myself at all so assume I would have had a bigger loss that week BUT I was just glad to see 3 off (although I've been super good so would have been devastated if nothing had come off). Going to up the exercise this week - I'm starting a running group on Saturday for my sins....I WILL BE THIN :D

yay! that's great well done! keep up the good work, and good luck with the running group. I am allergic to it myself (I know, I know, such a shame ), otherwise I would be out there pounding the tarmac as well!

I am meeting a friend this evening and am going walking, I live by a seafront so its quite cliffy which equals lots and lots of steps - deep joy.

out of interest what are your evening meals consisting of?

good luck with the run!

Thank you...I'm sure I will be a big puddle after about 5 minutes of running but I'm going to give it a go.

My evening meals are either chicken or fish with brown rice and lentils or loads of vegetables. I've also had a couple of healthy eating ready meals. Basically as long as its less than 600 calories you can have anything. I'm a bit of a fussy eater anyway and so only eat chicken and fish so its not that different (well apart from the no chips and piece of cake after...and then supper :D

How did the running go? I have taken up walking with my friend, nothing too strenuous, we go out for an hour or two. The longest walk so far was 2 and half hours because I couldn't remember where I parked the car lol! x

oh and good luck with the weigh in tomorrow! I lost another 4lb on my last one so that's 8lb down and only half million more to go! lol x

Well done on your loss.....8lb is good going :D Hoping that I have a good loss today.

The running is going ok (if a bit boring) but I've also found a new DVD workout that's a killer but I've been doing it and the pain I'm in at the moment shows it must be working (or killing me lol). It's called Brazil Butt Lift, quite intensive but if the results are even half what they promise it's worth doing! I'll let you know later aft my weigh in... X

Yay that's great well done!! we shall be skinny Minnies in no time at this rate! x
