I'm new...

Hi,

This is my first post on here and to be honest, I'm nervous. I don't really know why but I guess it is how it is. So I guess my story is this:
I'm 27 years old and engaged to the love of my life. When we got together 7 years ago I was overweight. But over time, I let myself go beyond the telling of it. I now weigh in at 363lbs. I feel like a failure and have tried many diets... WW, Cambridge, Exante, Atkins, South Beach and simple(?) calorie counting. Honestly, I'm lost and have no clue what I should try that will work. My best success was with Exante but honestly, I can't afford it. I'd love to hear suggestions and some encouragement. I feel awful and can barely move. I just feel like a car. Not a small one, more like a dumpy, frumpy Escalade. Any help would be hugely appreciated and welcomed.

Hi cara,

I'm new too... I've tried several ones like you have too and have started Slimming World recently... I've found it's the best one because you can have so much to eat on the Extra Easy plan (read up about it on the net). Sorry your feeling as you do, hope this helps just a little bit

Well done for making the first move and joining :)

Perhaps start a diary on the wemitts forum which in the 'slimming clubs' section on this site.

It's a place for people with more than a few stone to lose x

Welcome hun :) lots of us are in a similar position to you. The key thing is to be honest with yourself, take the emotion out and don't hate yourself. And go for it! To be honest I think all plans work we just have to stick with them. Work out what might fit in well with your normal life. I have spent ages messing about but I'm feeling positive and back on it. I too can feel like a car (more like bus!) But I'm finding that I'm in a better frame of mind being sensible and not setting myself silly goals. We can do this together. X
