Yesterday I was able to successfully add to my string of VeryLowCalorie days.
I've decided to stop posting calorie totals of these daily,
since they aren't actually JUDDD down days.
However, I plan to post here frequently.![]()

Yes we would still love to know how you are doing and what is working and not working for you. I guess Christmas is not so much of a minefield for you as Thanksgiving foodwise... would that be right? Wishing you a good week.
Thanks Hoe,![]()
No, for me the Christmas season is the most difficult time of the year.
The last third of December contains my birthday,
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, my son's birthday, and New Year's Eve,
Plus various Holiday events and gatherings.
Also my husband will be off work,
so we Vacation the week between Christmas Eve and New Year's day.
During the past 5 years, I've dieted for the first 2/3 of December,
then overeaten the last 1/3,
with heavy duty dieting all of Jan/Feb to lose the gain.
I'd love to break the gaining cycle this year...
especially since I've been running 3 to 5 lbs heavier for the past 6 months or so.
I'm still working to drop and stabilize in the 115 lb range or lower.
So far I've had a string of 8 VeryLowCalorie days...(downdays).
I'd like to add another 7 to that before my first big Holiday event.![]()

Although I've been successful at a string of VeryLowCalorie (Down) days,
my weight has bounced back up to it's former high.
Disappointing, since I had hoped to begin my Holiday vacation with a weight lower than normal, not higher.
I'll be away from the forum for the rest of the Holiday season.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.![]()

Thanks Hoe,
My computer food journal records tell me
that for the past entire quarter (3 months-Oct-Nov-Dec)
I had an average daily calorie average of 933 and maintained (back and forth) in the same weight ranges.
The entire year's (2009) calorie average was 1043...and even then I had a 2-3 lb gain in my "stabilized" weight.
I know that this is very different than most people, and (supposedly) scientifically impossible.
However, I am an "experiment of one".
My body is that of a "reduced obese" person,
and I've been maintaining a large weight loss for a very long time, having lost over 150 lbs total,
including my most recent 75 lb loss, where I reached my 115 lb goal 4 years ago.
The end of this month, I will be working within my 5th year of maintaining that weight.
There really aren't any research studies around re people with similiar body histories.
Today my weight is back down in the 118 lb range.
I'm feeling hopeful (without any evidence)that during the next few months,
I will drop several more pounds and get back into my blue maintenance area.
Recently I decided that in 2010, I would make Alternate Day Eating my lifestyle.
My plan is to eat 700/1400=1040.
which is, of course, a 700 calorie ceiling on low days;
a 1400 calorie ceiling on high days;
with a total average of 1040 calories.
This seems to be a "do-able" plan for me.
Having VeryLowCalorie low days alternated with normal calorie burn days
did not give me the Result I hoped for,
and I've decided to raise all of my low days above 500 calories.
My goal, is to maintain my current weight...with hopefully... a drop of 5 to 10 lbs
putting me closer to the bottom of my Maintenance Weight Range.
I want to work to make a Habit out of this way of eating,
and see if my body will reward me for it.
Happy New Year![]()
and Good Luck to each of us as we follow through with our individual plans.
